You can experience Mars daily throughout its stay from Monday 13th October to Sunday 2nd November. Here are the different ways you can see Mars: 👇

Visit the cathedral during its usual opening hours for Mars by Day – no booking required, though queues may form during busy periods. Free entry (suggested £5 adult donation).

𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 🌙
Experience the full atmosphere of Mars as it glows against the beautiful architecture of Truro Cathedral. Each Mars by Night session runs for 1 hour, though you can stay longer. Tickets £6.50 per person (under 11s free).

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 💫
Experience Mars: War and Peace from above on a 30-minute Celestial Heights Tour. Ascend the cathedral’s spiral staircase and roof space to view the artwork from a unique elevated perspective. Tickets £20 per person (includes Mars by Night session).

The Truro Half Marathon takes place tomorrow (Sunday) starting from Lemon Quay – and we’ll be cheering on all the runners taking part!

Good luck to everyone running and raising money for great causes. 👏

The Truro Half Marathon returns tomorrow, Sunday 14th September with a 9:30am start from Lemon Quay. Registration opens at 8:00am, with the race headquarters located at Hall for Cornwall.

The predominantly road-based course begins with a circuit through central Truro before heading out to Porth Kea, Playing Place and Cowlands.

Flooding is possible around high tide on Wednesday 10th September at 07:33 and 20:13 in Truro, and up to an hour either side.

Areas at risk include:

🌊 Pandora Inn, Restronguet

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗮𝘄𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘀

As previously communicated, Cormac is implementing traffic management in Truro city centre from Monday 8 September until Friday 7 November, to facilitate the next phase of vital repairs to the granite setts (cobbles) on Boscawen Street.

The work, which started yesterday involves signs, lighting, and guarding arrangements to support operations on Boscawen Street and the footway at the front and back of Hall for Cornwall on Boscawen Street and Back Quay.

To complete the repairs to the existing granite setts on Boscawen Street, road closures will be in place until Friday 7 November. We've spoken to Cormac on site who have confirmed that Boscawen Street will remain open at this stage to restricted vehicles* from the Lemon Street junction towards the war memorial.

The work involves the next phase of repairs to the cobble stone paving where the individual granite setts are lifted and cleaned by hand before relayed. Once finished, the surface will be safer, more robust and easier to maintain.

Repairs to sections of the footways outside of the Hall for Cornwall have also started on Boscawen St.
