When I published my first book, Stress-Free Self-Publishing, back in May 2019, a lot of people told me I was “so lucky” or “so quick” to get it out into the world.

But here’s the truth: that book was the result of a lot of behind-the-scenes work.

It took years of learning the hard way. Years of helping clients navigate the process. Years of developing the systems that eventually became the framework I teach now.

By the time I sat down to write it, I wasn’t starting from scratch—I was documenting the lessons I’d lived over and over again.

Publishing taught me what I now tell every author I work with:
📌 There’s no such thing as an overnight success.
📌 The magic happens in the background, in the prep, in the patient slog.
📌 Playing the long game is where the real wins are.

So if you're feeling a little disheartened by your book progress, just remember: slow progress is still progress. And the best things take time.
