🌕 “The Rainkeeper of Hollowmere”

The town of Hollowmere lay nestled in a valley where fog clung to the cobblestones like memory. On nights when the moon hung low and the rain fell heavy, the ghost hunters would gather—not to banish spirits, but to honor one.

She was known only as the Rainkeeper.

Long ago, she had been a healer, drowned in the river while trying to save a child. Now, her spirit lingered—not in torment, but in quiet vigilance. When storms rolled in, she would appear: a lifelike figure in flowing robes, her face serene, her eyes glowing with moonlight. From her hands poured water—not to harm, but to cleanse.

The ghost hunters, soaked and shivering, knew better than to flee. They stood still as she passed, letting the spectral rain wash over them. It was said that those touched by the Rainkeeper would be protected from misfortune for a year and a day.

As lightning split the sky and thunder shook the hills, the Rainkeeper turned toward the town. Her gaze swept across rooftops and alleyways, blessing Hollowmere with her silent watch.

And just like that, she vanished into the mist.
