June is Men’s Mental Health Month, a time to pause and check in with the men around us, and with ourselves.
Many men grow up hearing things like "man up" or "don’t be soft." Over time, that creates silence. A silence that can get heavy. A silence that makes it harder to say, “I’m not okay.”
But struggling doesn’t make you weak. Opening up, asking for help, and talking about what’s going on inside, that takes real strength.
You don’t have to go through it alone. You don’t have to wait for it to get worse. Whether it’s a mate, a family member, a therapist, or even a stranger on a helpline, talk to someone.
Check in with your friends, especially the ones who seem like they’ve got it all together. Ask twice. Listen properly. Little things make a difference.
Be here tomorrow. You matter more than you think.
Men’s Mental Health Month shines a spotlight on an urgent reality: far too many men suffer in silence, often without the support they need. But mental health matters every month, for everyone. No matter who you are, your feelings are valid, and you deserve support too.
