Spotted a spiked cylinder online that’s meant to help with focus (especially for ADHD), and I had to try one out. Mine’s got hex spikes, a satisfying clicky, and—because someone suggested it.

What Is PLA?

Ever heard of PLA? No, not the People's Liberation Army or Pokémon Legends: Arceus—though those are valid too.
We’re talking Polylactic Acid—a plastic made from plants.

🌽 Made from Corn, Not Crude
PLA is derived from fermented plant starch, usually corn or sugarcane. That means it’s renewable, unlike traditional plastics made from fossil fuels.

🧪 How It Works
The starch is turned into lactic acid, then polymerized into PLA—a thermoplastic that melts when heated and hardens when cooled. Perfect for 3D printing, packaging, and even medical implants.

♻️ Biodegradable-ish
PLA breaks down under industrial composting conditions. It’s not magic—it won’t vanish in your garden overnight—but it’s a step toward cleaner materials.
