Life in the countryside is never quite as quiet as people imagine… but we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🌿

Summer gets an awful lot of attention when it comes to UK getaways…
but we think the months that follow deserve some love too. 🍂

The beaches become quieter. The countryside changes colour. Walks are cooler for the dogs. Mornings feel slower. And coming back to a cosy cottage after a day outside somehow feels even better.

From some very busy bees… to a little treat waiting for our guests. 🐝🍯

One of the things we love about life here is being able to share a little piece of it with the people who come to stay.

Our honey is produced right here, carefully prepared and jarred up ready for guests at The Hideaway at Halton.

It's nothing enormous or extravagant.

Just something made here, with care, that we hope makes staying with us feel that little bit more special. 🤍

And judging by how hard the bees have been working, we certainly can't take all the credit!

There's something about the end of August.

The uniforms start appearing in the shops. Diaries begin filling up again. September routines are suddenly just around the corner.

And you find yourself wondering where summer went. 🤍

So here's your reminder that the slower days don't have to disappear completely.

There are still family breakfasts to linger over, countryside to explore, animals to meet, dogs to tire out and evenings where nobody needs to be anywhere else.

And once summer does disappear?

Autumn in the Lincolnshire countryside is rather lovely too. 🍂

POV: you've just realised your humans booked a holiday with a paddock. 👀🐾

One of our favourite things is seeing dogs arrive at The Hideaway and discover just how much space there is to sniff, explore, play and generally conduct Very Important Dog Business.

And when all that running around becomes exhausting?

There's a cosy little cabin overlooking the paddock where their humans can sit with a coffee while they recharge for round two.

Multi-dog households are very welcome here too. 🤍

Because nobody should have to leave one of the family behind.

We don't have a concierge.

We do have alpacas.

There's no hotel gym, but there's plenty of countryside to explore.

Room service might be pushing it… although some of the ladies responsible for the breakfast eggs live rather close by. 🐔

And our evening entertainment has a habit of appearing over the paddock just before sunset. 🌅

The Hideaway isn't trying to be a hotel.

That's rather the point. 🤍

Come and experience a different kind of getaway in the Lincolnshire countryside.

Everyone thinks about escaping to the countryside in summer.

But there's something rather lovely about it when the seasons begin to change. 🍂

Crisp walks. Quiet beaches. Dogs charging around outside without the summer heat. Slow mornings. Earlier sunsets. Evenings tucked away in a cosy cottage while it's cold outside.

And considerably fewer crowds.

If you're already thinking ahead to an autumn or winter break, The Hideaway at Halton is waiting. 🤍

Family friendly. Multi-dog friendly. Surrounded by Lincolnshire countryside, with the coast and Lincolnshire Wolds within easy reach.

Sometimes getting away is even better when everyone else has gone home.

No packed itinerary. No rushing from one thing to the next.

A day here can be as simple as breakfast around the table, a wander outside, saying hello to the animals, letting the dogs burn off some energy and perhaps heading to the coast if the mood takes you.

Then it's back to the countryside before doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the evening. 🤍

Sometimes the best holidays are the ones where very little happens.

Beach day or countryside escape?

At The Hideaway at Halton, you don't really have to choose. 🌊🌿

Sutton-on-Sea, Mablethorpe and Skegness are all around half an hour away, with miles of beautiful Lincolnshire coastline to explore.

Then, when you've had enough sand between your toes, head back to the cottage, put your feet up and enjoy the peace of the countryside.

We think that's a pretty lovely combination. 🤍
