Our Christmas tree is one of over 90 trees at the Dronfield Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival which runs from Friday 28th November to Sunday 7th December. See all opening times in the comments below.

FESTIVE CELEBRATIONS HAVE BEGUN IN BARLOW

St. Lawrence Church will be filled with Christmas trees, decorated by local groups and organisations, until Saturday, 29th November. Refreshments are available and proceeds go to the church.

WHEN AND WHERE TO SEE SANTA'S SLEIGH

Santa's Sleigh will operate on the streets of Dronfield again this winter, with the help of local Rotarians and a completely new external sleigh design.

Santa will visit:
• Snape Hill & Coal Aston on Friday, 12th December
• Holmesdale Estate on Monday, 15th December
• Hilltop on Tuesday, 16th December
• Dronfield Woodhouse on Wednesday, 17th December
• Gosforth Valley on Thursday, 18th December
• Unstone & Apperknowle on Friday, 19th December
• Round the Pubs on Friday, 19th December

There will be seven days of static display outside Sainsbury’s supermarket, Dronfield, from 8am-4.45pm each day on: Friday, 12th December; Saturday, 13th December; Monday, 15th December; Tuesday, 16th December; Wednesday, 17th December; Thursday, 18th December and Friday, 19th December.

Santa is continuing to use updated tracking technology and this will go live as the Sleigh leaves Callywhite Lane, or Sainsbury’s car park, so you can track his journey. The tracker will be accurate to within 12 seconds: wavetosanta.org/dronfield

DRONFIELD CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON 2025

Dronfield Town Council invites everyone - residents and visitors alike - to kick off the Christmas season at the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-On and Festive Markets on Friday, November 28th, from 4-8pm.
The Town Mayor will officially turn on the lights at approximately 6pm in the Library Gardens.
Besides the light switch-on, there will be a funfair in the library car park, plus lots of street food and market stalls to browse.
Christmas markets will also be set up in the Civic Hall, Dronfield Hall Barn and Peel Centre.
On Church Street, meet Santa in his grotto at Life Dronfield and visit the Christmas Tree Festival at Dronfield Parish Church.

DRONFIELD REMEMBERS

Dronfield people turned out in their hundreds to mark Remembrance Sunday.
This year’s parade began on Soaper Lane due to the closure of Church Street and made its way to the Manor Gardens,
where crowds fell silent for two minutes.
Many wreaths were laid at the War Memorial and a poppy fall was on display at the Parish Church.

DRONFIELD REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2025 SCHEDULE

Every year residents of Dronfield turn out in their hundreds to pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday. This year the commemoration will be held on Sunday, 9th November with the parade taking a different route to the War Memorial, outlined below:

10.15am - Assemble at the bottom of Soaper Lane, where a nominated representative from each organisation taking part is requested to make their presence known to the Parade Marshall of the Air Training Corps
10.35am - Parade to move off (members of the parade who may struggle walking uphill may join the parade at the top of Soaper Lane)
10.55am - Hymn and Last Post at the War Memorial
11.00am - Two minutes' silence
11.02am - Act of Homage, Naming of War Dead, laying of wreaths, prayers and National Anthem
11.15am - Parade re-assembles
