Not sure I ever shared this one from last year. A great project run by TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) to enhance the John Muir Way nature corridor and give opportunities to disadvantaged people along its route. What a superb idea, helped along with funding from The Heritage Lottery.

Last night I wanted to have a go at photographing the Milky Way and noticed a red glow to the north, in the photo only. So panning round the camera, on a 6 & 8 second exposure, picked up a mild aurora going on, not visible to the naked eye but easily picked up by the camera. Thank you Christie at TLC for the tip off :-).

Beavers! Love or loathe I think this talk will be fascinating. Really keen that it's well attended. Please come along if you can. Tickets are only £5 each and I heard that the Perth talk Duncan did recently was very good.

Join us at the Birks Cinema on Tuesday 9 July at 7:30pm for a fascinating talk by restoration ecologist and fishing guide Duncan Pepper who will take us through a new approach to understanding rivers and cover the range of beaver effects upon both rivers and salmon.
