THE PURPOSE OF LIGHT 🌟
Discover the powerful debut solo exhibition from Oscar-nominated photographer and filmmaker , now showing at Fitzrovia’s
Featuring over 110 photographs taken between 2019 and 2025, this landmark free-to-attend show captures the raw humanity of protest, resistance and belonging - from the Black Lives Matter marches in London to vigils for Grenfell and cries for justice across Sudan, Congo and Gaza.
Through his lens, Misan Harriman spotlights the voices too often left in the shadows - stories of civil rights, q***r and trans visibility, climate activism and global solidarity. His camera doesn’t just document history - it holds it still.
“The exhibition shows that we, the people, care about marginalised communities,” Harriman told The Glossary. “We may not be able to change the mistakes of our past, but we are willing to forge our presence - to be kinder and gentler, in order for our future to be what our children deserve.”
📍 On until 18 September
