The most wonderful time of year is on its way, and my Christmas Minis are nearly open! There's something so special about welcoming brand new families while catching up with the faces I've come to know and love, watching their little ones grow a whole year between each visit. Getting to be a small part of your Christmas every year is honestly one of my greatest joys.

These sessions are always so popular, and I'm forever grateful for the support that makes them such a highlight of my year. I've kept the price exactly where it was, just ยฃ49, and my returning full session clients have a lovely thank you discount waiting for them.

My returning full session clients, keep an eye on your inbox! You'll have your own email with your dates and everything you need to book. Any slots not booked on those dates will then be added to my VIP list to book once bookings open, so if you're not on my VIP list yet, now is the time to join.

These sessions are designed for children and babies of all ages. If your little one isn't yet sitting, a parent can join in for support, and of course, adults are always encouraged to be part of the portraits too.

Yesterday I went to lift my eldest up for a cuddle after school, the way I always have, and realised I couldn't do it anymore. He's just too big now. Somewhere along the way it happened and I didn't even notice the last time I picked him up was the last time.

Nobody warns you about that part.

When they're newborn, everyone tells you to sleep when the baby sleeps and take lots of photos. But in the thick of it, the broken nights and the endless feeds, it's impossible to believe you'll ever forget a single second.

And then you blink.

The sleepy weight on your chest. The tiny curled fingers. That funny little newborn squeak they only make for a few short weeks. It softens into memory so much faster than you expect.

That's the part I love about what I do. Not just the photos, but holding onto a few moments from a chapter that feels endless while you're in it and impossibly brief once you're through it. Because one day it's a newborn on your chest, and then somehow it's a great big schoolchild you can't quite scoop up anymore.

So if you're deep in it right now, whether that's a 3am feed or a bleary early morning with a baby on you, I see you. It's exhausting and beautiful all at once. Take the photo. Even the messy phone one. One day you'll be so glad you did. ๐Ÿค

I own a beautiful studio and I still can't resist an outdoor session.

This one wasn't at golden hour. We shot earlier so this lovely mummy's little girl could be there, and honestly, the light was still lovely. That's usually how it goes. You work around the small people and it turns out fine.

If the idea of a studio feels a bit much, or you just love being outdoors, we can do that instead. Same relaxed pace, same "you don't need to know how to pose" approach, just with better scenery.

Thank you so much to everyone who messaged me to help. I had well over 100 messages! I really appreciate your time. I wish I could photograph you all ๐Ÿค

A few of you have messaged asking whether Christmas Minis are happening again this year, so..... yes. 100%. And before they open for booking, I'm looking for a family to model this year's set.

My boys go on the new backdrop every year without fail. These four are them, one year at a time on four different sets, and looking at them side by side gets me every single year. Alongside them I photograph a model family, so there's a good mix to show you.

This year's backdrop is brand new and I'm rather excited about it. Who I'm after: three siblings, ideally a mix of boys and girls, anywhere from 4 months to around 11 years. If you've got two, or four, or three of the same, still say hello.

What it involves: a Christmas mini session at my Bisley studio this Friday august 28th , free of charge, in exchange for me being able to use the images to promote this year's minis. You'll receive 5 edited digital images to keep, and you're welcome to order any others you fall in love with.

You'll need to be happy for the photos to be shared publicly, including in adverts.

Cake Smash sessions are always a bit unpredictable, which is part of the fun ๐Ÿค

We start with simple portraits on a plain backdrop, and these can include parents and siblings too.

Then we bring out the cake. Some babies go straight for it, some delicately poke it, and some look at us like we have completely lost the plot.

After that, we finish with a little splash bath, which is often one of their favourite parts.

Every baby reacts differently, and honestly, that is what makes the gallery so lovely.
