“Facebook Ads Don’t Work Anymore.”

I hear this all the time.

“Facebook ads are dead.”
“They don’t work like they used to.”
“It’s too expensive now.”

But in reality Facebook ads do work. What doesn’t work is running ads without a strategy and expecting instant results.

I recently reviewed an ad account for a business owner who was convinced Facebook ads were “broken.” When I looked inside, the problem was obvious.

❌ They were targeting everyone, not the right people.
❌ Their ad creative was weak, so no one stopped scrolling.
❌ They weren’t tracking their results properly, so they had no idea what was working.

Facebook hasn’t stopped working.

Picking the correct objective for your FB ads campaign is vital

Think about what you want the end goal to be. Here are some of the main ones:

Traffic - when the aim is to get visitors to your website

Engagement - when you want likes, comments, shares, etc

Message - When you want the audience to send you a direct message

Lead generation - acquiring email addresses in return for a free product or checklist, etc

Conversions - A straight sale. Only use this on a cold audience if your product is fairly low-priced. Otherwise, use it on a warm audience who already know about you or your product

There are more, but these are the main ones you should consider

The key is to think about what you want the audience to do. What is the action you want them to take?
