Today we said goodbye to Gerard Jacques.
When he came to ubas studio and recorded with
Half Moon Panic, we had a lot of fun, he was a model professional on a mission.
Awesome vocalist and a magically gifted, powerful, inventive bass player.
A beautiful human being for sure, he simply lit up every room he walked into, I am for one delighted to have met him and spent some time with him, albeit not enough.
If not for the HMP Christmas bash in 2019 I would not have met my wife, forever grateful.xx
Everybody involved can be proud of that first album, treasured memories.###. Fly high my friend...xx

We are very sad to say that ubas records recording artist Robert Hokum passed away overnight. A fine musician and committed all round Bluesman. Very few will ever do so much for the UK blues scene. There will be an almighty blues jam in the sky tonight. Until we meet again.......... ###x

Sad to hear news this morning that singer/actress Cleo Sylvestre aka Honey B Mama has passed away after a period of bad health. I was honoured to engineer a recording session for her at my studio last year.
The resulting single 'Honey B's Christmas Blues' was released on ubas records in November '23.
We will always will be delighted to have recorded and released an artist of such history and pedigree.

Many will remember her records in the 1960's when her studio backing band was The Rolling Stones original line up ft. Brian Jones.
A really warm and friendly character that lit up the room when she walked in. A great many friends will miss her, none more so than her family. Sending them all the love in the world at this difficult time.

One night in 2018, Metropolitan Angels got together and laid down tracks in the heat of the moment. They started at 9pm and by 7am they had 10 numbers in the bag. Bass was then added by the uber talented Max Edwards a few days later. Everything was laid down in one take. This album is as raw as it gets, but there is many a pretty moment within. 'High' is available now on all major platforms.
