PROJECT CHILDSAFE ONE DAY CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING FOR SCHOOL LEADERS
On Thursday the 15th of October, we hosted school leaders from 10 different schools on Otukpo LGA of Benue to a One-Day training on child protection and safeguarding, with the theme: FROM AWARENESS TO ACTION: BUILDING SAFE COMMUNITIES THROUGH CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING.

The training had over 30 participants. Through lecture, questions and answers, and focus group discussions, the training enlightened participants on the following:
1. Understanding child abuse, child protection and safeguarding
2. Recognizing signs and indicators of child abuse
3. Preventing sexual abuse, harassment and exploitation in schools.

The training also charted a referral part way for abuse cases and had in attendance, the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Evang. Mrs. Enuwa Soo.

Participants at the event all committed to introducing child safeguarding policy on their schools to curb abuse of children.

WHAT A BUSY WEEKEND LAST WEEK
On Saturday 17th October, as part of our Project CHILDSAFE community sensitization on child abuse and child protection, we were at Ebologba Community in Otukpo LGA of Benue State to sensitize women on the rights of children and the dangers of child abuse. Sensitization included:
1. Child Abuse and it's types
2. How to identify victims of child abuse
3. Child trafficking and it's forms
4. Rights of children
5. Reporting and referral of child abuse cases.

Over 43 women attended the sensitization. Feedback shows that the women showed a shift in knowledge and pledged to practice knowledge received.

💗END CHILD MARRIAGE. INVEST IN GIRLS’ RIGHTS!✊🏽✨

At the ongoing OJU Girls Conference 2026, our Executive Director delivered a powerful message on the urgent need to END CHILD MARRIAGE AND INVEST IN GIRLS’ RIGHTS. 🎤💖

Every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, grow, and become everything she is capable of being. No girl should have her childhood stolen by early marriage. Instead, every girl deserves education, protection, equal opportunities, and the freedom to shape her own future.

💡 When we protect a girl, we protect a future. When we invest in a girl, we invest in an entire generation!

BATCH A HAIRDRESSING TRAINING GRADUATION
Amidst the dancing and celebration after 3 whole months of dedication to training and skill, we commended these ones into the hands of God, that God will help them grow this skill and deliver them from bad influence.

On Saturday the 26th September, we commissioned our first batch of this year's hair dressing training with 18 girls. Our wonderful trainees used the opportunity to invite their parents and family members to the occasion and displayed great sense of skill by braiding their hair with different hairstyles.
Trainees used the occasion to testify alongside with their parents while we prayed for them.
We use this opportunity to thank the CEO of Mary Beauty Makeover and Salon for this great partnership.
