We’re all about the controversial posts this week 🙊🙈
If you’re a about to open restaurant, cafe, takeaway, here’s why you should ditch your big launch night plans and what to do instead...
First off, these events cost an arm and a leg and create massive stress for everyone involved. 💴
They’re chaotic, too big and always do too much.
I’ve been to countless launch events over the past few years, and they are always overwhelming, pretentious and exhausting to be a part of.
I actually can’t recall of any place where I’ve returned to after a launch night... which says a lot. 👀
Plus, on launch nights, everyone posts about one place and then... crickets. 🦗
Meaning you may be fully booked in launch month but then revenue will be a rollercoaster.
Instead, do a friends and family night that is full of love and support. ♥️
Get your staff to invite their loved ones so that they have a dry run of being open with super understanding people that don’t mind if their oder goes a bit wrong.
Then, invite influencers slowly over time to keep bookings steady. ⏰
This keeps momentum up with little bits of extra visibility, meaning new eyes are always looking at your place. ✨
When you do start inviting influencers make sure you invite a variety of influencers - not just the same ones every season to try your new summer menu - because this will go to their same audience.
Remember your influencers don’t just have to be food related - include a range of niches, such as fitness, mums and lifestyle.
They all have large audiences, will create content from new angles plus reach audiences where restaurant reviews are rare so will stand out more.
Are you planning a big launch night? If so, I hope this steers you in the right direction!! 👀
