👻 DO GHOSTS EVEN EXIST?
I’ve been investigating supposedly haunted locations for over 15 years now… and I’ve got a confession to make.
I’ve never actually seen a ghost.
Not one.
No Victorian woman floating down a corridor. No shadow person standing at the end of a room. No dead monk waving at me from the stairs. Nothing. 😂
Have we heard things we genuinely couldn’t explain? Absolutely.
But there’s a massive difference between saying “I can’t explain that” and saying “THAT WAS DEFINITELY A GHOST!”
And this is something people forget all the time:
Just because I can’t explain something, or you can’t explain something, doesn’t mean there isn’t someone else in the world who can.
Not knowing the answer doesn’t automatically make the answer paranormal.
Just because I don’t know what made a noise doesn’t mean Derek from 1847 has come back from the dead to knock twice on a wall. 😂
Over the last week I’ve asked people on this page if they’ve ever seen a ghost, and the amount of people saying YES has genuinely surprised me.
I’ve been to Shrewsbury Prison over 60 times and never once seen a ghost.
Yet someone can go there once for two hours and apparently see three ghosts, hear footsteps, get touched, have their name whispered and probably have a conversation with the old governor before going home. 😂
And this is where I think paranormal TV and YouTube make things even worse.
The sad thing is, people watch fake paranormal channels and heavily produced TV shows and genuinely believe everything they’re seeing is real.
In my opinion, the vast majority of paranormal content out there is either exaggerated, staged, manipulated or edited to make completely normal things look paranormal.
And the worst part?
People will defend it to the death.
You can explain that an orb is dust, a noise is the building settling or an app is literally just generating random words, and somebody will still reply:
“Nope. Definitely a demon.” 😂
When people spend years watching investigators get a ghost every 30 seconds, they start to think that’s what a real investigation should look like.
It isn’t.
Real ghost hunting is mostly sitting in the dark, hearing absolutely nothing, getting cold and wondering why you didn’t stay at home with a takeaway. 😂
The longer I investigate, the more sceptical I actually become.
You learn that orbs are normally dust, strange lights are often reflections, footsteps travel through buildings, old places make ridiculous noises, cameras create artefacts… and once you understand those things, a LOT of paranormal evidence suddenly becomes far less paranormal.
That doesn’t mean I think ghosts definitely don’t exist.
I actually WANT them to exist.
But after 15+ years of looking for them, I’m still waiting for something that makes me say:
“There is absolutely no other explanation for that.”
And even then, I’d still want someone smarter than me to have a look before I started shouting GHOST! 😂
If ghosts are real, apparently they’ve all agreed to avoid me. 👻😂
So I’ll ask you…
DO YOU BELIEVE GHOSTS EXIST?
YES or NO? 👇
