Cartea dragonilor prezintă 8 povești care au ca temă centrală dragonii: mici, mari, uriași, buni, răi și de toate culorile. Cu toate că poveștile se adresează în primul rând copiilor, umorul și aluziile scăpate printre rânduri sunt mai degrabă adresate celor mari. Dragonii nu sunt înfățișați ca niște bestii (cu toate că unul înghite un oraș întreg), ci sunt personificați. Au nevoi, au așteptări, au sentimente materne.
Fiecare povestire are un univers distinct (o lume în care toate creaturile au dimensiuni greșite sau un regat condus de un prinț răuvoitor) și în fiecare povestire vei putea găsi diferite tipuri de personaje - copilul neascultător sau curios, învățătorul conservator, politicieni care nu-și țin cuvântul, bărbați orgolioși sau vrăjitoare care nu vor decât să fie iubite.

Traducerea a fost realizată pe baza lucrării originale, apărută inițial în 1899 (versiunea în limba engleză face parte din domeniul public). Mi-am rezervat dreptul de a face mai multe adaptări și devieri de limbaj pentru ca textul să sune cât mai aproape de secolul nostru.
