Hit us up with who you would love to see play at Sankey Street Basement in Warrington.
Which headline DJs haven’t graced our town for a while, or ever?

Further to my earlier post, lots of people messaging as local DJs, but I am in need of recommendations for DJs people will pay money to see.
Suggestions please.
House / disco / minimal / tech

Pic for attention!

Hi fam, how are we?
So I am teaming up with Sankey Street Basement and also have some dates pencilled in for some intimate day parties at Lock 91 in Manchester. I am also looking for a venue in Liverpool.
So my question is regarding DJs you would like to see. I have a budget agreed with the venue in Warrington, so no suggestions like Carl Cox and Jamie Jones, etc please. DJ fees for headline acts are very high.
I also want to know about local DJs, I have a long list and I am trying to get everyone on that I know about, but always on the look out for anyone I might have missed.
This is not pigeonholed to house classics DJs either, house, tech house, deep minimal, whatever your bag is - speak now or forever hold your peace!

Pic to make the post stand out!

Fancy food shop Sainsbury's have just dropped their new Xmas advert, which is similar in tone to the John Lewis one and features two old time cockney DJs mixing 88 classics Trybe - Psychedelic Shack seamlessly into Charles B - Lack Of Love...and it's a real Xmas tear jerker 🥹

Huge thanks to everyone that came and partied on Saturday!

It’s lovely to have such a good vibe and friendly crowd, which is what has always made our event so special.

Massive thanks also to the amazing staff at Sankey Street Basement, and to all the DJs

Watch this space for the next one 💥

Some thoughts on small events and the state of UK nightlife…

The nightlife economy and the electronic music scene in particular needs small events.

Big festivals and corporate-run shows can be incredible and absolutely worth the money, but they’ve started to dominate the scene. We still need the smaller nights, the ones that give new DJs and emerging artists a real platform.

Not every talented DJ is going to blow up on TikTok, land a hit record, or win a competition. And not everyone can afford the big events with ticket prices, expensive drinks, and cashless bars. Some of the best energy and connection you’ll ever find is in those intimate spaces, the proper grassroots events.

Running small events isn’t easy. Promoters rely on advance ticket sales to know if an event is even viable, and there are always a few no-shows on the night, which hits the bar take too. We totally get that life happens - pets, kids, cars, crazy exes, illness, you name it, and this isn’t a criticism at all.

To show some love to those who do make it through the door, I’ve decided to offer a free or discounted ticket to the next event for everyone who turns up. I’ll keep doing this until we rebuild our AVIHP community into a full sell-out again.

I’ll continue working with small venues to help keep our grassroots nightlife alive, because I’m truly passionate about the scene that shaped me, brought me joy, and introduced me to so many amazing people. ❤️

Saturday Nov 1st

Sankey Street Basement and A Very Important House Party welcome Rue Jay to Warrington, with his infectious energy and superb bag of house and classics tuneage.

Complimenting him on the line up is Warrington’s own Sammy Dean bringing the heat, as well as resident and king of the warm up Adam Wilson.
Manchester’s Connor Walker and Liverpool’s Elzi join the brand with their own signature style
