I'm not here to do ride updates generally, but for Paultons Park I'll make a personal exception ;)

It's my local park, my favourite UK park, and I love sitting and watching them work.

The shear amount of progress over the last 4 days is incredible!!

Had a really lovely day out today at Paultons Park .
Started the day with the Summer Bash 2026 event with the fabulous Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain which included a sneaky little back stage tour of Drakon (plus before park opening rides on Drakon and Raven, as well as a yummy breakfast) and spent most of the rest of the day watching track being installed for the UKs first water coaster!

Accessible Explorer room in the Alton Towers hotel review....

This weekend, we stayed in room 141, an accessible Explorer room in the Alton Towers hotel, sleeping 3 adults.
We specifically booked this room type because we prefer a bath to a shower.
There are other accessible rooms available with a wet room set up.

The bathroom is extremely well set up for us.
Plenty of grab rails, lowered sink (although the mirror could do with being lower), a large area to transfer at the end of the bath, levers on the taps, push pump toiletries, lovely large, soft towels and 2 emergency cords that reach the floor.

The room itself, however, is really not what I'd class as wheelchair accessible.
There is not much room around the beds, there is a heavy chair which can't be tucked right in (the photos show how far it sticks out), the hanging area is not lowered, there are no plug sockets near the beds and the tea/coffee facilities are all up on the dressing table (which is too high to use safely).
There is an emergency cords though.

We often opt for this type of room though because we can deal with the room not being as accessible as we need the bathroom to be 🙂

On the road for our weekend away 🥳

Alton Towers for the Merlin Annual Passholders group waterpark event tomorrow evening (another group I admin), Drayton Manor on Monday then the West Midlands Safari Park on Tuesday for our anniversary ❤️

After what has been a hell of a week for our family, one which I don't wish on anyone, we (hubby, son and myself) are really looking forward to this 😊

A very hot 🥵 couple of hours at Official LEGOLAND Windsor this morning, trying out the power wheel and grabbing photos for the group.

Some pros and cons I noticed (bare in mind, I've been visiting for around 17 years)....

Pros -
Additional sun shade has been installed in a few places.
More picnic seating by the Autumn ride.
Loads of new models throughout the park.
The park is looking very bright and vibrant.
They have a QR code link to ride restriction translated into other languages.

Cons -
Quite a few drink/snack huts have been removed.
Those left were all closed (seriously, lack of cold drinks available).
The QR code boards for disabled ride access are tiny and very hard to spot. Unlike the huge ones at the other Merlin attractions.
Dino Coaster still states there is a stair climber for access but apparently this doesn't exist 🤷‍♀️
The Hill Train does not operate all day, meaning a long walk uphill to exit.

Unfortunately, I find this theme park one of the least accessible for me.
Wheelchair access is inconsistent, all disabled guests have to use the same entrances as paid for fastrack (making very long wait times on weekends and school holidays) and there are a number of rides that have 'merge points' without staff there to assist 😕

How the devil are we all??

Good old life got busy again so I'm sorry for the tumbleweed......!!

The jumpers were so good, I couldn't resist some t-shirts too.

Few things coming up....
☆I am going to be attending the Attraction Source Hype event at THORPE PARK Official on Saturday alongside my other Theme Park Tips guys 🥳
☆I'm hoping to get to Chessington World of Adventures Resort next week to get on the new Paw Patrol land rides (with my littlest pickle nephew) 🤞
☆Haven't decided exactly where yet, but somewhere non-theme park for a day out end of next week 🤔
☆That takes me up to my little break away at the beginning of July to host the Merlin Annual Passholders waterpark event up at Alton Towers then I'll be doing Drayton Manor and the West Midlands Safari Park as we head back down south 🦁

July and August plans are being finalised, so more news soon ;)

Disneyland Paris live trip report - Thursday 4th June 2026

I woke at 6am, pottered around, finished packing, then went to take my suitcase to the luggage room when it opened at 7.30am (there can be a queue by 8.30am).
I went back to the room and waited until 8am before leaving.
It's chilly and quite windy today (but dry so far).

The main park had been opened by the time I arrived (8.15am) so I ciukd go straight in and do my day time Tales of Magic route video when it was really quiet.

I then waited until 8.30am to meet Pluto.
I was the only one there when he came out.
Note - it is currently Pluto rather than Donald or Stitch (who have been there previously).
I stopped after to fully rain cover up.
It had started heavy spitting.
By 8.45am the heavens opened!
So I took the parade viewing area photo on my way to Fantasyland where I stopped undercover to wait for the rain to ease.

Once it had eased (and then stopped shortly after) I went on Dumbos, took pictures of Peter Pans Flight and the Carousel, then went on Pinocchio, Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones (thus ride hurts) before heading over to the other park.
Remaning seating photos will have to wait until my next trip (beginning of September).

I started DAW with Spiderman W.E.B Adventure in the adapted Sling//r then went on Flight Force using the additional opening for entry to the car.
Time was ticking away and there were still a couple of other things I really wanted to get pictured this trip, so I started to head over to World if Frozen via taking photos of the huts around the lake.

Hit World of Frozen with just enough time before lunch to go on Frozen Ever After one last time.
Lunch was in The Nordic Tavern because it fills me up with real food ready for my journey home soon.
I then finished my round of the lake, taking the last food photos on the way.
I also stopped for a quick spin on Rapunzel Tangled Spin 😉

Got back to the hotel by 1.30pm ad was being picked up at 2.30pm.
I like to be there nice and early.
Driver arrived on time and was lovely and helpful.
Unfortunately, on the way to the airport (3pm) BA informed me that my flight was cancelled due to adverse weather at Heathrow.
They make it very easy to either move your flight or cancel with a full refund.
I moved my flight to later tonight (10pm rather than 6pm) and went straight to the BA desks on arrival at the airport to check everything out.

At the airport, they confirmed I was re-booked correctly but couldn't check in until 3 hours before, so I got ready for a long wait.
Popped to the toilet, but as soon as I came out the lovely lady who had spoken to me came over and told me she could get me on the flight that was leaving in 40 mins 😍
Obviously I was over the moon!
I flew (no pun intended) straight through passport and security (no queue at either) and had enough time to pop to the shop to get a drink before waiting at the gate.

On-board the plane we sat in 29°c heat for almost an hour waiting for the ground crew to manually start one of the engines, meaning we ended up departing almost the exact same time as my cancelled flight 🤦‍♀️ Seriously 🙄
Still, at least we were on our way home. Still 4 hours earlier than I thought I would be.

Took off at 6.10pm French time, landed 6.55pm UK time.
Took the tube thing from C gates to arrivals and met hubby.

Disneyland Paris live trip report - Wednesday 3rd June 2026

I woke at 6.15am and left the room at 8.15am, just because I happened to be ready (not because I was rushing out for early magic hour).

There were things I needed to do in the Main park for the group, so I headed there first.
I took a few needed photos then went on Big Thunder Mountain.
I then decided I was cold, and it was unlikely to get as warm as predicted today as the breeze was picking up.
I hot wheeled it back to the hotel to grab my hoody then came back.

Stopped in the Christmas shop before heading to Small World.
I noticed that the huts in Fantasyland had reappeared so I stopped to take photos of the food they will offer (they were closed, not sure if they've opened at all yet, but they are ready).
It is largely the same offering as the huts by Ratatouille.

At Small World I chose the wheelchair accessible boat (see videos post and seating album).
You are up front but no-one can sit next to you. All seats are set back which is a shame really.
You are tied in using 3 tie downs.
I had to remove my power wheel to get over the back tie downs.
They asked if I wanted to go again which I loved ❤️
I was offered a third time round but declined.

I was peckish now and spotted a crepe cart with no queue, so took it as a sign lol 😆
I do enjoy the sugar crepes they do in the park. A bargain at €4 in my opinion.

I then went on Storybook Boats Casey Jr. and the Tea Cups before heading over to DAW.
I stopped at Hollywood Gardens for some lunch (they do the nicest vegan nuggets) then met up with my family (cousin and her hubby plus 2 kids).

We did Frozen Ever After, waited for Parachute Drop but it shut due to the high winds, RC Racer, Ratatouille, went to do Aladdin’s Carpets but the disabled queue was huge so moved on to Spiderman W.E.B Adventure.

They then had a character meet at the Heroic Encounter.
They had Loki!
Outside we've seen Deadpool, Loki, Miss Marvel, Thor and Captain America in the area.
We also saw Spiderman doing a roof top appearance.
This was all in the space of 15 mins.

We did Flight Force then moved on to do Cars Quatre Roues Rallye.
On the way my family stopped to watch a bit of Minnies Marching Band and I had a lovely surprise "hello" from the wonderful Crepes and Castles ❤️

We went back over to do Frozen Ever After again because it was unlikely that they would get on it again due to the wait times of the main queue (no child can easily wait 80+ mins, let's be honest).

After that, we parted ways.
They had a dinner booking at PYMs and I needed to decide what I wanted to do with my evening.
The plan had been to stay out to watch Cascade of Lights again (I really like this show) but it was raining on and off and the wind was high so I decided against it.
I'm back in September 😉
So I did some last minute shopping in the Village (found the big foot Sully who had been out of stock all week which I wanted to go with my Mike) then decided on the Rainforest Cafe for dinner (sad it'll be shutting soon, possibly before my next visit 😢).
I had the coconut crumbled chicken which was great 👍

I then went back to the hotel, started packing, finished writing this, updated today's additional photos and will call it a night shortly.
Last half a day tomorrow 😢
