Some technical issues with the last petition!
Had to create a new one, apologies I know a lot of you had already signed…please sign this new one as well🙏 you have to confirm your signature, go into your email inbox and click confirm or it won’t be counted!

I’m putting myself on the line here and being totally honest when I say the only thing that would change my mind about leaving The Hideout Beach Cafe would be a significant reduction in my rent by the Council.

Without going into too much detail, there has been some questionable decisions made my the council around the time I signed my lease. Things that the council did not make me aware of and issues that would have impacted my decision to sign a lease at the value I agreed to pay under false pretences.
I haven’t been treated fairly.
I previously approached the council as far back as last July, and asked for a rent reduction, I was met with no cooperation from them at all.

This place means the world to me.
I have created a social hub used by so many people from near and far. It has brought visitors to the area that other wise wouldn’t have known Waterfoot existed.
I has ran health and wellness days with local woman’s groups and recently worked along side the local health visitor and been used as a meeting place for mothers and children. It is a vital lifeline that the community desperately needs and deserves.
If you feel like I have been treated unfairly, and you would like the local council to hear your feedback on this issue, please fill in the petition below. It takes two minutes to do and it might make a difference.

One of my followers sent me this throwback photo from 13 years ago. Sadly, due to the council's neglect of our local area, I worry it'll look like this again soon if things don't improve.
The cafe sat empty for years before I took it on, how long will it sit for this time around? It was suggested to me by a council member that the building would be better suited as an air B&B, because that’s exactly what the glens needs more of!! 🙄
The boardwalk and beach paths are an embarrassment.
Makes you wonder what we are paying rates for 😞

All good things must come to an end, and sadly our time at the Hideout Beach Cafe is coming to a close sooner than we'd hoped.

I've poured my heart and soul into building this special place, creating a social hub in a part of the village that needed it most.

It's been an absolute joy to see people of all ages from far and wide visit and become part of our community.

We've made some incredible friends along the way, and we're eternally grateful to each and every one of you who's supported us.

Despite my best efforts to work with the council, providing a much-needed space for the community, I've been met with a lack of transparency and cooperation from Causeway Coast and Glens council.

The stress this has taken on my family and my own mental health has become too much.

Our last day trading will be Sunday, 31st August.

Please join us one last time and show your support before the summer season ends 💔.
