It's Wednesday so we've just completed our latest meeting.

It was great to be joined by Ify Oti and we missed seeing our other visitors, hopefully they will be able to make a future meeting.

This week Rob Osborne talked about the importance of having a positive attitude, in life, in business and in networking. Positive Attitude is one of the 7 core values in BNI.

William Metcalf reminded us all of the importance of having good, structured 1:1's so you can become referral partners for each other. It's all about building relationships and ensuring you can provide quality referrals. It's definitely quality over quantity.

William Metcalf was the winner of our 60-second round this week too, so gets to give a 2-minute presentation next week, as well as having the responsibility of choosing next week's winner.

Rob Osborne gave the 10-minute presentation this week, providing some background on how he got into Digital marketing and the services his company Red Knight Solutions, provides.

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗔 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 ☠️ 🏴‍☠️ 𝗗𝗮𝘆!!

What has that got to do with digital marketing? I hear you ask. Well …

☠️National or International Days are great sources of ideas for content, for your social media, website and / or email newsletters … especially if you can link it to what you do.

☠️It’s a little known fact that Facebook used to list English (Pirate) as one of their language options as a homage to International Talk Like A Pirate Day!!

I’ve done some research (well asked ChatGPT) and it seems that this option disappeared somewhen in 2019.

🏴‍☠️ It’s also an excuse to share a pirate joke with you all –

🏴‍☠️ Why are Pirates called Pirates? …. Because they Aaaarrrrrrrrrrr (say in a pirate accent for it to make sense).

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺?

That’s a question I’m always being asked.

It can be difficult … but

Content ideas are all around you.

I’ve decided that I am going to create 1 piece of social media content a week

From now until Christmas

Using pictures or video from my recent holiday in Gran Canaria!!

They will all be linked and related to digital marketing in some way.

Not only will this demonstrate that content ideas are all around you …

It will remind me of the lovely, sunny weather and the amazing hotel where we stayed

Which will help me get through the Autumn and Winter weather as daylight gets shorter and the weather gets colder.

So that is 14 pieces of social media content I should have sorted in the very near future.

I have got lots of ideas but not got to 14 yet.

𝗡𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁.

That's the headline of this month's magazine from Entrepreneurs Circle and I know exactly what they mean!!

I said in a post last week on LinkedIn that I had lost my mojo about what I was doing.

I had stopped creating content, both on social media and for my website.

If I'm not doing that, how are people going to know I exist?

More importantly, I'm supposed to be "doing digital marketing" so that's not a great advert, is it?

This is one of a number of signals I've seen recently that have helped me get my mojo back and start to create content again.

I started posting on LinkedIn again last week and my content had over 2000 impressions. I've no idea if that is a good number at the moment, but it's a lot better than it has been for the last few months.

My target this week is to beat that number, so I will see what happens by next Sunday and let you know.

If you're reading this then you can see I am now posting content on my Facebook and Instagram business accounts too, which means I will be setting initial targets for reach this week and looking to beat them next week on these platforms

Competitions like this are a great way to grow your following, but don't make it too complicated otherwise people may not be able to do everything you've asked ... and it could be quite a challenge to make sure people have done everything you've asked them to.

It was good to have a face-to-face catch up with associates at Crookley Park Estate earlier today.

We put the world to right and discussed a few business ideas too.

Even though my business is to help tell people about your business, I'm not always good about talking about what my business does. I guess it's a bit like the builder who never finishes their own house!
