Well, spin my ni**le nuts and send me to Alaska.

That came around quick.

It's only time again. I'm sure this time last week it was Monday.

Thank you Sally for this lovely Testimonial.

And, as Confucius once stated, "May your Tuesday not be a dick."

Always good when you stumble across a job you did a little while ago.

I did this narration for National Bed Month (A thing!) back in 2022 for Bed Advice.

This was created by Distant Future Animation Studio with whom I've had the pleasure of working a couple of times. Love the animation style on this one.

I'm Mark, and this is what I do. I love narrating Explainer videos and, well, all other genres, really. I love my job.

Just a reminder about this challenge starting in March. Any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.

1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer, and it kills 11,000 men a year.

That's why I'm doing the March the Month Challenge in support of Prostate Cancer UK - walking at least 11,000 steps a day during March.

I know money is tight for a lot of people, but even a few quid will help this important charity fund research that will stop men from being diagnosed with prostate cancer too late.

And don't forget to add Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer.

If you can help, please do, but if you can't, sharing this post would also be amazing.

Thanks

Mark

Me: Somewhat like buses, right?

You: ...?

Me: Certain types of jobs I meant, sorry, I was going for the mysterious social media opening hook.

You: Oh, explain?

Me: Well...

I've never done narration for a museum guide before, and I've had two in the last week. One for a National Trust property in Hampshire and the other for a motor museum in Arkansas...somewhere.

Doing this kind of genre is a new one for me, but I love the scripts I've seen so far - well written and interesting - and can't wait to get my teeth into them. Not literally, as that'd make it hard to read. Get started, I meant.

Session on Monday for one, and the script is still being tweaked on the other so will be a little while yet, but something to look forward to.

Ready for a niche CTA?

Do you own a museum? Do you need a damn good voice for your guides? Well, here I am! Let's connect!

I'm Mark, a British Voiceover and I'm getting to record some damn interesting stuff. Want to send more my way to keep this smile on my face? DM and all that.

Oh hai! 👋🏻

I’ve had a small influx of followers recently, so I thought I’d do one of those introduction posts that no one will read (well, apart from my cohort of regulars).

So, I’m Mark. I’m a British Voiceover artist based down on the South Coast in Hampshire. ⬇️

I’ve been one for 8 years and I’ve worked with some amazing names over that time, from Amnesty International to Zurich, and AC Milan to Volkswagen. (Run out of Z’s).

My voice has been described as natural, assured, genuine and ‘Guy next door.’

My niche is the conversational voice that is oh-so-popular these days. That authentic sound your customers like to hear. 👍

I mainly do corporate work - so , and but I have also done quite a few radio and TV commercials so don’t think I’m stuck in my lane. 🛑

I’ve got a professional Esmono recording booth, Neumann TLM103 mic and Audient ID14 interface - links to studio pics below, people seem to like behind-the-scenes stuff. 🎙️

You’re probably thinking, why should I choose you over another Voiceover?

Well, you don’t have to. It’s all about choice, you see.

The best thing about the Voiceover industry is that we’re not competing against each other. We each have our unique sound, and not every voice will be suitable for every job, so if you don’t think my tone will work for your project, there are many others out there that will work.

I won’t mind. 👌

That said, , I’d love to work with you.

You can get hold of me in various ways…

↳I love a DM.
↳WhatsApp - link on my website
↳Email
↳Phone

I’d recommend email though, if I get a say. My email address is on my website linked below.

Speak soon, I hope. ✋

I'm not always stuck in a padded room.

I like to get out onto the gentle, rolling hills of the South Downs with my rucksack on, and notifications off for some mental health cleansing.

Just chilling out, walking at my own pace, enjoying the outdoor beauty that we have in abundance in this country - something that I think is taken for granted.

One thing you can't do when going out hiking is be unprepared. You need to let people know your plans, have the right kit, and know where you are going.

Preparation...

And this is me shoehorning that into a post today.

Just like hiking, preparation is key for Voiceover work.

so...

→Script prep
→Hardware check (It was working yesterday, HONEST!)
→Hydration (Stop those clicky mouth noises, ew!)
→Meeting details if needed.
..all have to be taken into consideration before pressing record and laying down your dulcet tones.

How much prep do you have to do in your job? Let me know, I'm always interested in how other people approach stuff.

Happy Hump Day by the way.

I call this piece: 'It worked yesterday...'

Ah yes, tech gremlins.

As an aside, I want to punch Microsoft Teams in the fizz.

How's YOUR Wednesday going?

If you want an efficient, quick and above all damn good voiceover I'll be happy to help - but can we use Zoom or a proper remote session solution? k thks.

(I've also just noticed the grey hair on my right temple. Oh god.)

I'm Mark, a normally very calm and collected British but if you could imagine me shaking my fist at an otherwise unconcerned sky, it saves me having to do an AI Image.
