🌒 A spectacular partial solar eclipse is coming today! 🌞🌙

London will experience a very deep partial eclipse, with around 90% of the Sun covered at its peak, around 7:12pm. It will begin shortly after 6:15pm and finish around 8:06pm.

As the eclipse reaches its maximum, we may notice a change in the light and temperature, creating an eerie, dusk-like atmosphere. ✨

Because it happens around sunset, a high spot with a clear view of the western horizon will give you the best chance of seeing it.

A lovely opportunity to step outside and experience a little bit of astronomy together! 🔭🌙

Akhlaaq is incredibly creative, whatever he sees, he can replicate and turn into his own unique design. Design and Technology, along with Arts and Crafts, are his strongest subjects. he saw a CPR dummy and came up with his own model.

Sorry I haven’t shared updates here for a while — life got busier than expected!

I thought I’d share a little update on what my boys have been learning, loosely based on the National Curriculum.

I usually plan a term in advance, which makes things much easier for me to organise and deliver. It also helps me balance learning with extra-curricular activities, outings, and family time — because Home Education is about life as a whole, not just lessons.

During the last Autumn term, here’s what we covered:

📘 Akhlaaq – focusing on character, manners, and values
🔢 Maths – times tables and fractions
🔬 Science – states of matter
📖 English – a variety of reading and writing activities
✍️ Spelling – regular practice and reinforcement

Slow, steady, and meaningful learning — tailored to their pace and needs.
