🎄 One of the downsides of being self-employed? No work Christmas party! 😂🥂

So you can imagine how excited I am to be hosting the Fabulous Females Northamptonshire Christmas Party this year! ❤️

And we've got a fabulous evening planned!

I've seen a lot of rumours on Facebook about a new two-link restriction, so I thought I'd go straight to the source and ask Meta.

Well... they were helpful as ever 🙄😂

First I asked what the page link limits were and was told there were no specific numerical limits.

So I asked a slightly different question...

Turns out, some pages ARE being limited to 2 organic posts or comments containing external links per month.

According to Meta, the limit resets on the 1st of each month. Links to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads don't count, and neither do links used in ads.

The important bit is some Pages. This isn't Facebook suddenly saying every business can only post twice a month, which is something I've already seen people worrying about.

If your Page is affected, you can still post as normal. It's posts and comments containing external links that are restricted.

And HarrisonHub is one of them 😂 As I went to publish this post, Facebook kindly informed me that I have "2 links left".

So that's one I'll definitely be keeping an eye on, especially as I manage business Pages that regularly use external links.

For now, don't panic and completely change your Facebook strategy because of something you've seen in your newsfeed. Check your own Page and keep an eye out for any notifications from Meta.

And if you're confused, apparently the trick is to ask Meta the same question twice in slightly different ways 😂

✈️ HarrisonHub is officially out of office!

After the last few days, I think I need a holiday before my holiday 😂

The client posts are written, everything is scheduled, the out of offices are on and somehow I have made it to the end of my pre-holiday to-do list!

I'm now taking a little break from HarrisonHub and heading off for some much needed sunshine ☀️

And I pinky promise that the laptop will be staying safely at home!

This will be my first holiday in over two years where I actually try to switch off from work completely, so emails and messages won't be monitored while I'm away.

I'll be back in September, hopefully refreshed, recharged and ready to get stuck back in.

Just in time for the Fabulous Females launch...EXCITED! 🤩

To help with my work-life balance, I've finally taken the plunge and purchased a dedicated business number. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was to set up an eSIM, so silly me for putting it off!

How far would you go for FREE chicken strips? 👀

WELL this weekend, I had a bit of an incident 😂

My bestie took me away for a surprise weekend as a belated birthday treat and we went to Delapré Abbey Food Festival, which was delightful, and then onto a lovely hotel stay.

Popped in for a little swim, sauna and steam room. Also delightful.

Then we went back to the room and I thought I'd have a nice little shower before dinner, which ended in me slipping over and faceplanting the bath... doh! 🤦‍♀️

Even had a visit from the hotel first aider, armed with ice and plasters. I'm now sporting a slightly swollen and bruised cheek (you can't really tell, thank goodness), a cut finger, steri-strips on my elbow and a very purple leg!

To top it all off, my bestie had to sign the accident report as my responsible adult for the evening 😂

After the poor lady sorted me out, she said, "Do you need anything else?"

I said, 'Yes... chicken!'

So she kindly gave me some chicken strips on the house hahaha.

If you happen to see me hobbling around like a crab this week, well now you know why 😂

Yes, there are photos of the injuries. No, I'm not posting them 😂

On the plus side, the chicken strips were excellent 😂💜

It's Friday, it's the start of the bank holiday AND it's my birthday 🎉

I might hate Christmas, but you best believe I LOVE birthdays!

I don't care what age you are.. 64, 20, 36... take the day off!
Do your thing, celebrate however you want. Celebrate YOU 🎉

I'm off to do all the things this weekend, starting now... lunch, dinner, cinema, seaside, bingo, bbq. I don't know what else 😂

My phone hasn’t stopped pinging over the weekend, which has left me feeling very proud and humbled 💜

It led on to some reflection…

Just over two years ago when I started as a Virtual Assistant in the self employed world, I thought: ‘This will be easy and I’m virtual so won’t need to speak to anyone really… PERFECT.’ 😂

Well, I was very wrong about that.

As my adopted business Mum Rianne Scott kindly pointed out, when she first met me (10 years ago?!), I wouldn’t even answer the phone because I didn’t want to speak to anyone… now I’m doing networking, presentations and speeches in front of 40 people. Like who am I? 😂

3 years ago I wouldn’t even drive to Kettering, now I’ve driven in cities and all the way to Cornwall 🚗

I haven’t only built a business, I’ve grown as a person and so many other opportunities have opened for me, which is wild.

So, here is your Monday motivation: Do the things that scare you.

You best believe I’ve thrown up before a big day because of nerves and I’ve sweated my t**s off standing up in front of everyone 😂 but I’m still here to tell the tale and it’s all been totally worth it 💜✨️

WELL… I don’t even know where to begin 🥹❤️

Yesterday’s Fabulous Females Northamptonshire launch was honestly amazing (if I do say so myself 😂)

The atmosphere was incredible, everyone was so lovely and we all just had the BEST time.
