The Key to a Wonderful Life

The key to a wonderful life
Is to never stop wandering into wonder.
Because to live a predictable life,
Only fills a person with strife,
And such a person will always be wondering:
‘What a limitless life could be lived beyond the lines?’
Such is a question a curious spirit would never sit forever and ponder.
So always pursue new ventures in your life,
And be willing to open doors to different light;
This is the only way to keep it magical and always filled with wonder.
Days will feel shorter, but your happiness will grow stronger —
Because living a life without curiosity and adventure,
Is a stale life where days only feel longer and
Longer.

Even as adults, how easy is it for us to miss the joy in the simple things? How often do we seek the extraordinary and lose the very moment we’re in? Have we lost touch with our own inner child?

The extraordinary will take care of itself 🤍.

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

With so much going on in the world it is easy to allow time to be spent on costly pursuits; worry, over thinking, avoidance.
Greet time with the gratitude it deserves. Make choices that serve you. If it is rest we seek, choose it. If it is peace we desire, find it. If is it stimulation and excitement, create the space.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is yet to arrive. What value can you take from this very moment?

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

As 2021 draws to a close its easy to reflect upon the last 12 months and wonder what could’ve been. However, what about finding space and celebrating the what HAS been. Through adversity there is always opportunity for growth. Worry and negativity can consume us. The discipline of gratitude & thanks is something to welcome in 2022 🤍

‘Reflection must be reserved for solitary hours; whenever she was alone, she gave way to it as the greatest relief; and not a day went by without a solitary walk, in which she might indulge in all the delight of unpleasant recollections.’

Self-reflection allows us to take a step back, engage in introspection, and gain perspective on what really is important. A process we can use to increase awareness and understanding of who we are, what our values are, and why we think, feel, and act the way we do. When we self-reflect and become more conscious of what drives us, we can more easily make changes that help us cultivate a stronger sense of self.

Accept yourself as a work in progress the continue to build yourself into the person you’re dreaming to be;

the person you have all the potential to be.

accept your flaws, accept your truths. accept your past.

and make light of them. no one can tear you down if you make peace with who you are and where you’ve been.

if you are going to focus on the negative at all,

focus on turning them into positives. focus on growing.

sometimes, often times, our minds are the scariest place to sit.

it’ll trick you into comparing yourself to others and it’ll trick you into believing you aren’t good enough. but you are. you have always been and you always will be.

you’re much more powerful when you believe in yourself.

if you don’t love all of you, who will?

give yourself time to blossom.

We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.
- Henry David Thoreau...
