For over 20 years, we’ve been delivering exceptional DJ and discotheque services across London, Kent, Surrey, and Essex. The London DJ was born out of my lifelong passion for music and production, which began in radio during the late 1990s. My journey quickly transitioned to performing at some of the South East’s most iconic nightspots before evolving into a focus on weddings and corporate events. Fourteen years ago, I recognized a glaring gap in the market for truly high-quality entertainment. Since then, The London DJ has had the privilege of performing at over 5,000 events in stunning venues such as the Natural History Museum in London (including the Champions League After Party for Manchester United!) to breathtaking country manors throughout Kent and Surrey. Our work has even been featured in renowned publications like Hello, OK! Magazine, Kentish Weddings, Kent Bride, and Brides Magazine. Recognized by Industry and Media

In 2015 and 2016, we were proud to be the official DJ for Channel 4’s hit show Married at First Sight, showcasing our ability to deliver outstanding entertainment to a national audience. We really need to talk about wedding timings again…
Over the last few weekends I’ve been at the same venue, and every single time the couples have been given timings that just don’t work.
For example — a two-hour wedding breakfast including speeches for 70 guests? 🤦‍♂️ Not a chance!
Weddings don’t run perfectly to the minute, and that’s fine — but your timings should at least be realistic. You’ve spent a lot on your day, and you deserve to relax, enjoy your meal, and soak it all in.
A wedding breakfast with speeches will almost always take 2.5 to 3 hours, minimum.
When it’s rushed on paper, everything after — the evening turnaround, first dance, cake cutting, DJ set — ends up behind schedule.
So here’s my advice 👇
When you’re going through your plans with your venue, question the timings if they don’t seem right. Some venues get it spot-on, others… not so much.
Your wedding day should be about joy, not clock-watching. ❤️

Across London, Kent and the South East, the wedding industry is evolving – and fast. Over the past few years, there’s been a clear and deliberate move away from large-scale, overly structured weddings and a shift towards smaller, more meaningful celebrations.

Often referred to as micro-weddings, these events focus less on guest numbers and more on experience. It’s no longer about showing off. It’s about creating something personal, relaxed, and authentic – a wedding day that truly reflects who you are as a couple.

While the overall number of weddings might be lower than pre-pandemic levels, that doesn’t mean the industry is struggling. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. What we’re seeing is a transformation in the way couples choose to celebrate – and it’s long overdue.
