It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the death of Mark Bonner during the early hours of Monday morning.
Mark was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in February 2022. Although his original prognosis was only six months, thanks to the world-class, lifesaving treatment he received from The Royal Marsden in Sutton, Chelsea, and Cavendish Square, he continued to defy all the odds. During this time, he also received many holistic healing treatments inspired by his beloved sister, Alison.
In so many ways, Mark was a giant of a man. His loss leaves an immense void not only in the lives of his family but also in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Over the years, Mark left a lasting impression on everyone he met. The outpouring of messages we’ve received to date is a testament to the deep impact he made.
Mark was a reMARKable, spirited, and fun-loving individual. Throughout his life, he remained a constant source of inspiration to us all, caring deeply about his outstanding team of colleagues and associates many of whom became lifelong friends. His drive and work ethic were legendary. No matter what the circumstances, he held true to his old-school ethics, demonstrating a strong sense of fair play at all times. He was greatly respected and admired in all his business dealings.
During the final days of his life, Mark was moved to St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing. There, once again, he was able to receive the world class, specialist care that end of life requires. His devoted wife, Zoë, remained by his side right until the end.
“The loss of Mark has been heartbreaking for me, his wife and his daughters, Natasha and Myia, his family, and no doubt all of you. It is hard to comprehend that this indefatigable life force has now departed on his next adventure.
Thankfully, he leaves behind many cherished, unforgettable memories. He will be greatly mourned and missed by us all.
When you think of him now and remember the times you shared, we hope that amongst the sadness he will also continue to make you smile. His spirit remains with us.”
Once the immediate shock has subsided and the funeral arrangements are finalised, we will share the details and hope that you will be able to join us in celebrating his extraordinary life.
In the meantime, let us pause and share in the love and loss of this extraordinarily loving and talented gentleman.
