Lambretta Rossa 350 YPVS. Short-lived production run in the late 1980s of classic Lambretta scooters powered by Yamaha 350 YPVS engines. Great idea on paper, let down it would seem by less than perfect business acumen. The main man behind the project, Alan Rosser, would later meet an untimely death, his murder remaining unsolved some 25 years later.
Back to the photo and I think I took this at a Margate scooter rally, but cannot be certain.

Back in 1949 Innocenti published their first edition of Notaziario Lambretta, a newspaper designed to promote their humble Lambretta scooters. Over the years these publications gave an insight to Lambretta life and have subsequently become very sought after by Lambretta enthusiasts. For those of us who are not lucky enough to own such things, we are proud to be able to publish an article about the early editions in edition 53 (Jan/Feb 2026) of ScooterNova magazine, sharing these collectable papers with a wider audience for all to appreciate.

Andy lining-up on his cutdown Lambretta GP150 Bitza to race the Brighton Speed Trials around 2000. Although the speeds/times were not that impressive, this was apparently the first time a Lambretta (and possibly a scooter) had competed at the event. Pictured with Andy are Mark Elliman and Steve Aqua who helped build and transport the scooter, photo taken by Caz Elliman.
