The beach just a few minutes away 🏖️
And views like this… just there. For free ☀️

Nothing flashy. Just enough. And so much to be grateful for 🥐✨

Lately I’ve been dressing for my soft life not the one you see on screen, but the one that actually exists between work emails and dog walks.

The park across the road has become my little reset button.
Five minutes of air. Five minutes of peace. Five minutes to remember that softness doesn’t have to wait for weekends.

Some days it’s layers, denim, colour, and comfort.
Because if I can’t control the chaos, I can at least choose clothes that don’t fight me.

Here’s to the everyday version of the soft life slow mornings, warm knits, and dogs that make you step outside.

Some weeks hit heavier than others.
I’ve been feeling off, foggy, anxious, disconnected like my brain’s buffering.

And when I made a mistake at work, it sat heavy. I replayed it. I spiraled

But here’s the thing growth doesn’t always look like momentum. Sometimes it’s just surviving the low days without walking away from yourself.

If you’ve been there too you’re not behind. You’re just human.
I’m excellent at putting feelings in boxes & throwing away the key but that pile is looking precariously balanced & ready to fall. Accepting I need help does not come easy to me, I was told about talking therapies thru our local council & have signed up.

I’m putting this out there in case anyone else is feeling the same right now, my inbox is always open for a chat and trust me my adhd allows me to fully over share so come prepared with a snack & a big drink 🧡🪩🙏

Screen-printing my own bumblebee at the new Artspace at the recently re-opened Weston Town Quarry, Zara’s class was so much fun.
And with great people, a view like this maybe I’ve unlocked a new hobby 👏

I should call this ‘Specs Fest’ and turn it into a series the amount of glasses I’ve tried on recently.

Shop 1. Walked in, got a smile, got opinions. Exactly what you want, advice from an expert.

Shop 2: not even a hello. I actually thought the two staff members were customers also wondering around looking lost. So awkward.

Anyway — the main event 👓
Pair 1: giving French film club president.
Pair 2: don’t talk to me until I’ve had my oat flat white.
Pair 3: …1980’s primary school vibes, 🩵
Pair 4: …Hides tired eyes perfectly. 👀
Pair 5: …Good enough for the bro 👊

The twist? I forgot the brand name 🙈 (classic me). So can you help me out here? The last slide has my top 3 picks but I need the names so I can actually make a decision 🥰

Realising I’m 100% normal with a fabulously non-normal brain 🧠

1. Loving my .thestore tee 🍣🧡

2. Clearly the peach was juicy & ripe, clearly I did not wait til I got outside, use a plate or eat it over the sink - clearly this was going to happen (and no the stain isn’t out all tips are welcome)

3. After battling thru the jungle of weeds for weeks I cut them all down then abandoned the garden waste where I’d finished 🙈

4. With 30 minutes to spare I knew I had time to bleach + scrub the grout whilst in the shower washing my hair, get out and decide to mop the floor before getting dressed (one of my more manic moments)

5. Running late after number 3, still convinced I can get to Winscombe in 10 minutes then get stuck behind the waste lorry - on a Saturday - my chimp brain is now having a field day with me 🐒

Moral of the story is - don’t skip the meds on a weekend.

Good & Proper our story..

Good & Proper started out as Coco Browns over 14 years ago, recently we have gone through a period of change which included opening a second unit inside Bristol Temple Meads station , this was a true work of love!

It took 18 months to finally open our doors on December 17th 2018 and we haven’t looked back since. In January 2020 I decided it was time to merge the two businesses and create one brand under one roof and so began Good & Proper Weston. A cafe where you can find home cooked fresh food made from simple ingredients but with all the love you would expect from an indi cafe. Try our Whole Hog brekkie with everything bar the black pudding you won’t leave feeling hungry. We encourage plant based eating and offer a selection of Buddha bowls full of fresh bright rainbow ingredients nourishing your gut health.

We source our food from local suppliers where possible this is super important to me and often the best slice of cake you can buy is right on your doorstep, to compliment the food Extract coffee from Bristol are our go-to for our daily caffeine intake as is Canton Tea who do a stunning selection of herbal teas sitting alongside the hot warming breakfast cuppa.

We look forward to welcoming you through our doors and when the sun shines take a seat in our outdoor area and just watch the world go by with a cold glass of Wiper & True pale ale or thatchers cider whatever your choice we can’t wait to say hi!
