🚨 Major Heath Fire Near Alder Road, Poole 🚒

Around 75 firefighters from across Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue are currently on the scene tackling a large heath fire near Alder Road in Poole.

The fire service shared:
*“We’re working really hard to get the fire near Alder Road under control. Your support this afternoon is really appreciated.”*

📍 Please avoid the area while crews continue to work.
🏠 If you live nearby, keep windows and doors closed to stay safe from the smoke.

Dorset Council have released a statement saying:

"We are aware of graffiti that has appeared on
roundabouts in the Dorset Council area, and we will be removing it as soon as possible. Dorset Police are investigating, and we would urge the public to contact the police with any information.

Defacing road markings in any form is an offense under the Highways Act 1980. It can compromise visibility, distract drivers, and increase the risk of accidents for both road users and pedestrians.

If you see graffiti on road signs or roundabouts, please report it to us immediately so we can act quickly to remove it.

This comes as several roundabouts were seen with the St George's Cross on them across Weymouth & Portland.
