Clarity is really important when it comes to marketing. If your customer isn't too sure what you offer, they won't commit to buying. Now, sometimes this is really simple to sort out, and sometimes it can feel a bit murky.

Imagine you own a bakery that specialises in celebration cakes. If your customers can see that clearly on your social pages (BTS's of cakes being made, clear images of your cakes, contact details obvious etc) they're much more likely to think about you when they next need a celebration cake. But if they go on there and they just see cookies, bread and tea-towels, they're not going to pick you for Aunt Maud's 80th birthday cake.

That's not saying that you can't put other things on your page - recipes, cookies, staff reels, etc - but just remember, always think, is this content relevant to my customer and does it enhance our main offer before you post.

Got a lot of ideas and not too sure what your main offer should be? Why not book a chat with me, and I can help you figure it out!

So what is SEO? There seems a lot of mystery surrounding Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and yet it's one of the most important marketing tools you have, and one of the easiest to sort out.

Simply put it's just looking at what key words people might use to search for you and then using them on your website, in your social media captions, in your meta data, in your alt text etc.

Every single part of your marketing can be used as SEO to make sure you're the one at the top of the search pile.

If you have any further questions or need any help with working it out, slide into my DM's and we can have a chat!

As a small business, when your customers make a decision to buy from you it's not just because they like your product ❤ they buy from you because you are you!

Customers like to know who they're buying from. They want to know you're a real person. And they learn this, a lot of the time, through your social media platforms.

You don't have to share everything but consider adding a bit more than just. "this is my product", and, "this is what I sell". Try adding teachable posts, snippets of your walking day on the stories, or something that made you smile that day. Whatever it is, make sure its authentic. Authenticity is the word of 2026!

There's a lot of talk about what makes a successful digital marketing plan, but honestly, the most important thing is consistency. That doesn't mean every day, or even every week. Far better to post once a month at the same time, than to post every day for a week, get overwhelmed and vanish.

Consistency is the only real way to "beat the algorithm" ❤

I’ve got a few new people here, so I thought I’d do a bit of a re-introduction.

I’m Naomi-Ruth, and I set Great Rocks Digital up to offer an alternative to a lot of the marketing that’s out there. For me, traditional push-more, hustle-more marketing has always been notoriously unhelpful.

I have a chronic illness, so my energy levels are wildly variable. I’m dyslexic and definitely part of the neurospicy tribe, and on top of that, I’m a mum to three very busy redheads. So… I kind of get it!

If you need my kind of advice, or you’re just looking for something a bit different, you’re very welcome to hang around. I’d love to hear more about you! Whether that’s your struggles with marketing, organising your time, or keeping boundaries when you have a tendency to say yes too much, or just saying hey!

I’ve really felt spring arriving recently 🌱 despite the grey weather I can see the bulbs pushing through & the buds peeking on the branches. So a little throw back to last spring. Don’t forget to switch off and take time to pause this weekend!

Apart from something to market, you don't need a lot to create a really successful marketing strategy. You just really need:

A WHY. This is the reason why you're putting yourself out there. The purpose of your marketing. Its the platforms you choose, and why they're the ones for your business. That post that went a bit more nuts? Why did it? Was it the timing? The subject matter? Or perhaps someone shared it? Have a really good look at your page and work out which posts have been most successful and why.

A HOW. Now you take those answers above and you use them to start creating a strategy. Look at how to solve your customers problems. That'll lead you into how you work out your ratios of posts (hint: direct selling posts should be the least on your page). Work on a simple repeatable pattern. That could be anything from 3 repeating post types right through to just picking a regular day to post on. Something that works for you and you can stay consistent with.

And finally BOUNDARIES. So, so important. Make sure you take a day away from your socials on a regular basis. Don't like using a platform? Don't use it. Making reels stresses you out? Create beautiful imagery instead. Only share what you are comfortable with. And remember, life outside of your marketing is much more important, however looming they might feel. Give yourself a break.

If you want any help sorting out your why's from your how's, just drop me message ❤
