Delighted to share another 5 star review from one of our patients.

As you can see this patient had Lumenis Ultrapulse Alpha LASER scar treatment alongside RECELL, also commonly know as 'spray on skin'. Its main indication other than acute burns care if to help people with scars that have hypopigmentation.

Not all moisturisers treat scars equally. A study from the University of Adelaide, featured in several news papers in Australia this week, tested eight affordable and high-priced scar moisturisers.

This is a very interesting piece of work that highlights the lack of clarity regarding skin products for patients to use on their scars. What is clear from this paper and other similar evidence is that often products that are marketed as the 'best' for scars do not have the solid evidence to back them up. Preserving cell water content is crucial. This can be achieved with some simple creams, which are relatively inexpensive e.g Eucerin, or Epiderm which is what we tend to use at Thames Valley Scar Clinic.

Book an appointment with us by email or call and discuss with the team. We can do both in person or virtual consultation for those further afield.

On the day, relax and share your concerns with our medical founder, Consultant Plastic Surgeon Alexandra Atkins-Murray. She can explain your options in full and we have the full remit of care for scars, skin lesions and skin rejuvenation with our state of the art Lumenis lasers, surgery and non-operative treatments. We take standardised photographs to help discuss the issues you have and refer back to see your outcomes.

Finally, after your appointment you will receive a letter summarising the discussion and a fully costed treatment plan - we are transparent about all costs and benchmark to our peers.

The appointment lasts about 30 mins and for those with further questions we offer a secondary consultation that can be in person, virtually or by phone.
