Tractors are passing through the yard slowly but it can be busy at times so please take care 🚜

Bit of a water mystery going on here at the min 🤯

One caused by rats chewing the pipes... easily found and fixed.

The other.... no idea and we'll end up digging the whole yard if we're not careful 😂

We've tried.... digging where the big boss thinks the pipe is, divining rods - everyone gets the same result, digging where the water was boiling out of the concrete, listening to the ground with a stethoscope 😂..... still no pipe, the "leak" has stopped in the hole but the meter is still turning 🥴

Meaning we're switching off and on a bit allowing water troughs to fill, but stopping water constantly flowing.

🍫 Kitchen productivity down a little but... Lily managed to sneak in a quick brownie bake so cake table is still looking 👌

🤔 so.... back to the head scratching and ears to the ground 👂🏽👀💧

I will be forever curious about the reasoning behind these projects.

We are constantly told livestock farming is damaging the environment and that cattle are contributing to climate change.

Yet land is bought for “rewilding” and cattle are deliberately put back on it.

So what exactly changes?

The cattle? The land?

Or..... who owns them and the long term "plan" for land ownership and food production?

Because, currently.... livestock can be an environmental problem on a farm, but an environmental solution on a rewilding project?

🥴 Just another Sunday Funday....

The importance of understanding and observing behaviour, not just doing a quick look over the fence

Something didn't seem right with this lamb yesterday. A couple of times a bit fed up up, then next minute all ok and you wouldnt have thought anything was wrong.

This morning though..... standing by the gate away from the rest, head down, occasionally kicking his belly.

If you don't stand and watch, you don’t really notice.

Just a tiny black mark underneath.... look at the first photo..... would you pick that up?

So.... catch and investigate. It really doesn't take long for this to happen and the lamb could be riddled in no time.

Flies lay eggs in the most random of places.... as you can see.... fleece is clean - no poo or soil stuck to it.

Easiest way to solve.... shear, antiseptic spray and it will be healed up within a couple of days.

Watch til the end and see him on top of the hay munching away and back to normal
