This week at Briscoe PR…

⭐️ The whole team took part in Sally Golden's iPhone photography workshop! It was a brilliant session packed with practical tips on how to get the most out of our smartphone cameras - perfect for improving photography for social media, marketing, holidays, and everyday moments.

⭐️ We also attended a cybersecurity awareness training session and were reminded just how crucial it is to use strong, unique passwords. No more reusing the same one…

⭐️ Charlie visited The Bugle Hamble for this month’s content collection and even took the iconic pink Hamble-Warsash ferry across the River Hamble on the way back!

⭐️ Harriet has been busy planning and scheduling content calendars for August, as well as organising detailed shot lists to make upcoming content collection visits even more efficient.

⭐️ Kevin attended the Peer2Peer Boards at the beautiful Lime Wood Hotel - a fantastic opportunity to share insights, learn from others, and connect with fellow professionals in a stunning setting.

Where we’ve been recently: The Bugle, Hamble for a content collection shoot! 📸⁠

Charlie headed out on her own for the first time to visit The Bugle, gathering fresh content for upcoming social media calendars. Regular visits to our clients are really important for keeping content up to date and relevant, especially in the hospitality industry where things can move quickly.

Spending time at the venue is also a great way to catch up with the team and pick up useful information for future content planning or possible press stories.

To finish off her solo trip, Charlie took the pink Hamble Ferry to Warsash and enjoyed some lovely views from the water 🌊

With the summer holidays fast approaching, silly season is also incoming 🤡

So what is silly season, you may ask? Silly season is a period, typically in the summer months, when news outlets experience a lull in major and serious news stories.

Although reporters may struggle to find hard-hitting stories to cover during this period, this is a golden opportunity for those of us in PR to get more visibility for news stories that may have potentially been overlooked during any other time of year.

Here are some tips for making the most of the silly season and coming out the other side of the summer with some great media coverage:

📰 Prepare some news releases in advance, packaging them with quotes and images so they are an easy win for busy reporters.

🌴 If you’re going on holiday, make sure someone else is available to speak to the media on your behalf.

👀 Keep an eye on what’s making the news and offer expert opinions.

💄 Give a facelift to stories that might not have received much coverage earlier in the year. Try to give them a topical hook and making them more engaging.

This week at Briscoe PR…

⭐️ Kevin kicked off the week at the quarterly board meeting held at the beautiful Chewton Glen Hotel in the New Forest. Great discussions around the table, and Kevin even won the music quiz before lunch! Here he is collecting his prize from Bizpedia host Kayleigh Scott.

⭐️ Later on, Kevin enjoyed a sunny day at the stunning Kimbridge Barn, diving into PR and marketing strategy sessions for Ideal Collection.

⭐️ Saturday saw Kevin and Bella out and about at Westlands Food Fare gathering fresh content.

⭐️ Later in the week, Charlie and Bella returned to Westlands for their monthly catch-up, while Bella also popped into the Wi******er shop on Friday to collect content for the monthly calendar.

⭐️ Becca and Harriet enjoyed a sweet treat from the ice cream van that visits the office!

⭐️ Becca attended her fortnightly catch-up and content visit at Tektraders, snapping photos for upcoming press releases.

⭐️ Harriet and Becca got creative planning the August content calendars, brainstorming together really helps the ideas flow! They even started drafting the calendars.

⭐️ Bella and Kevin took some well-deserved time off and enjoyed a relaxing break by the coast in Devon.

⭐️ Becca headed to Boathouse Swanwick for some catch-up meetings and content collection for the upcoming content calendars.

⭐️ Harriet, Sam, and Charlie made the most of the sunshine during their lunch break in the courtyard - and even ran into a few furry friends! (You’ll spot them in Charlie’s ‘day in the life’ video!🐶)

⭐️ Charlie worked on pulling together client newsletters for the first week of the month, ensuring we keep on top of our email strategies for all clients.
