We are delighted to be hosting the next Satcoms Innovation Group Workshop!

The Satcoms Innovation Group is the industry's leading technical forum, bringing together engineers, operators, integrators and technology providers to openly discuss the most important challenges and opportunities facing the satellite sector. Unlike many industry events, SIG workshops are built around collaboration, knowledge sharing and candid technical discussion, creating genuine opportunities to learn from peers and shape the future of the industry.

For Global Invacom, hosting this event is particularly significant. It provides an opportunity not only to participate in those critical conversations, but to showcase the innovation, engineering capability and technology leadership that continue to be developed across our group operations.

GSOA and SIG Workshop at SSGS: Hardening the Ground Segment: Cybersecurity for Next-Gen Gateways

Our Research and Development Engineering Manager, Dr Gavin Cox, will be jointly moderating a session at SSGS with ETL's Paul Gouws. Hosted by the Satcoms Innovation Group and GSOA, the working lunch will bring together industry and technical experts to discuss real-world experiences and emerging cybersecurity challenges across ground stations and gateway infrastructure in a multi-orbit environment.

As ground segments continue to shift towards virtualised and software-defined architectures, new risks are emerging across supply chains, firmware, and network systems.

💡 The discussion will focus on:
• Strengthening cyber resilience in next-generation ground infrastructure
• Securing gateway systems in multi-orbit operations
• Improving supply chain and firmware assurance
• Addressing interoperability-driven security challenges

The advent of LEO satellites, with their offer of low latency and global coverage, has upended the satcom industry. With 43,000 satellites expected to be launched by 2035 (according to Novaspace), many of which will be in LEO, the industry is now facing a new world order. This rapid expansion and shift towards NGSO is driving transformation across the ground segment, with ground equipment having to evolve to cope with the complex technical needs of LEO constellations.

Our CCO, Craig Bowley, discusses what this means for the ground segment in his article for Satellite Markets

📢 Global Invacom Partners with TinSky Connect Group (PTY) Ltd to Bring Prodelin Antennas to South Africa

In the latest in our partner announcements, we are expanding our distributor network to South Africa with TinSky Connect. Following the recent agreement between Premix Hadlock and Global Invacom for representation of Prodelin (formerly CPI) antennas, this is the latest in a series of distributor agreements, bringing high value Prodelin and Skyware SMC antennas, along with innovative RF electronics to a global customer base.

Craig Bowley, CCO Global Invacom commented: “This partnership further strengthens our presence in the African region, making our state-of-the-art antenna products and RF solutions available to larger customer base. TinSky has built a strong reputation across the region through its technical expertise and extensive network, and as such is the ideal partner to bring Global Invacom’s product portfolio to the South African market.”

Naas Vermaak, Group Managing Director, TinSky Connect added: “Through this distribution agreement, we’ll be able to make Global Invacom’s range of market-leading antennas and high-performance RF equipment available to our customers. This will expand access to advanced satcom solutions for users throughout South Africa.”
