Skin Deep

Skin Deep We don't use Facebook anymore, please follow us on Twitter () and Instagram ().

Skin Deep is a multimedia platform that amplifies voices of colour through the discussion of race and culture. Skin Deep is a counter movement to the way in which culture is often simultaneously racialised and depoliticised in the mainstream. Our aim is to curate a space in which a diverse range of heritages, tastes, styles, stories, sounds, traditions and imaginings can be explored both creatively and politically.

Who gets told, or taught to forgive? What role do prisons occupy in your life? ⛓️ ⛓️‍💥

These were just some of the questions we reckoned with at day 2 of Skin Deep’s summer gathering: Communes on Faith - a weekend of conversations, workshops, activations, musical improvisations and more at Walworth Town Hall .

While our team stays underground plotting throughout August, we’ll be sharing some footage from the event on our socials. Special thanks to Nejma Collective, Apricus Bead Crafts, Haymarket Books, Hannah Yu-Pearson, Jordan T Jones, D.K. Renton, and Tiggy for bringing it all home and wrapping our weekender.

Is the fomo real? Or do you need to re-live these moments again? Recordings of sessions will also be available on our new Patreon membership platform later this year - so make sure you sign up now via link in bio to not miss out!
