That’s a wrap at winter 🎥🍽️✨

RCM have wrapped on covering the official video content for the large scale event for foodie lovers at The NEC, Birmingham with

During the show our film crew capture a diverse range of footage ranging from general b roll of exhibitors, visitors, book signings, big kitchen action as well as the other stages. Piece to camera snippets with talent like James Martin and Lisa Faulkner through to visitor and exhibitor interviews.

As per usual we love to bring new ideas and creative flair to every event we capture even if we’ve covered it before, whether the way we shoot or edit and this time round…

✔️A frantic show runaround for socials with the brilliant asking visitors ‘what’s in their shopping bags’
✔️POV style sequences utilising an arm extension with clamp on the Sony fx3 for an immersive view on samples, entertainment & cooking
✔️A GoPro clamped to Tony big kitchen stage camera for live action close up
✔️Hyperlapse zooms through the show floor
✔️Insta 360 Timelapse’s & sequences of specific stands with cheese boards & cocktail making.

🟩 Two days of shooting for University of Southampton Law School wrapped 🎬

RCM on highfield campus shooting a long form film to showcase everything the has to offer for students, staff, partners and organisations.

Led by insightful interviews we’re looking forward to cutting this one together in the edit suite ✂️🎞️

We loved hearing about the combination of students learning so much and gaining real experience from being involved but also the real people they help.

🟩Showcasing search & rescue applications with AlphaGeo 🚁

A chilly but productive day in the Hampshire countryside today just outside of Wi******er as we had a RCM film crew working with the AlphaGeo team to highlight the capabilities of the Fortnite tethered drone.

Supported by an INEOS vehicle, Rescue Dogs, and the Hampshire search and rescue team we set up a realistic scenario to highlight the different features of the Fotokite.

🟩Active for all 🏅

The team at RCM currently working on a film to highlight the active for participation strategy with

Shooting at both day and night and indoors, outdoors, under water too, we’re excited to help showcase the activity, energy, and community engagement to everyone who gets involved in sports at the university.

So far we’ve covered everything from rugby scrums, water polo, taekwondo,big celebrations for competitive matchplay against other university teams, climbing walls, a 200-station gym to squash courts, studios, spin classes. A Partnership with Eastleigh football club, to taster sports days at local padel clubs and more.

Look forward to sharing more soon to showcase just how serious Southampton is about sport and about getting everybody active.

🟩 Graduate success stories in London 🎥

Today we’ve had a diverse day shooting across the City with a rcm film crew highlighting graduate success stories in a new video series.

Two very different Careers and workplaces to suit….first up Brenda, a 3D animator at who deliver award-winning visual effects, animation, and more for film and TV. Great to make a return to their London base after a previous shoot there for ASUS ProArt.

We headed East next as the sun came down on the capital with a trip to London City Airport and an interview and shots with Phoebe who is a trainee solicitor at London’s most central airport.

We were lucky enough to head up to the former control tower which had great views across the runway and across the river too, it certainly made for an impressive backdrop. Interesting that London City Airport traffic is controlled in our backyard of Hampshire now at NATS Swanwick!

Two action packed events two days straight 🎬

Our crew has been whizzing around capturing video & photography content of two large scale events taking place on the south coast over the last two days.

💡Innovation, ideas, fresh thinking and lots of brilliant brands and local organisations getting together from the south coast.

✔️

A packed house (inside ;) at St Mary’s as our RCM video & photography crew covered all the action of the event. Over 100 brilliant speakers across multiple floors and industry leaders, developers, investors, and local authorities coming together to collaborate and look at fresh thinking.

This was also really a showcase of the venue and how it’s utilised at its best for conferences of this kind with the flexible spaces and fantastic team at the stadium.

🟩 Basingstoke: A great place for business 📈

250 local businesses will converge tomorrow at the Basingstoke Business Expo, the city’s largest networking event.

🟩 Into the Archive | Finding Lucy 🎞️

This week’s archive post features ‘Finding Lucy’, a film produced for and involving the EPSRC UK-RAS Network of nineteen universities, several of whom joined in with the project.

Produced for UK Robotics Week 2017, the film anchored around an emergency at a power station, showcasing how the latest advancements in robotics could be used to save lives in disaster zones. We utilised the decommissioned Fawley Power station for most of the filming, which is of course no longer there at all!

Combining dramatic reconstructions, aerial filming, public services, VFX and more, this was a major project involving many universities as well as local school children from New Forest and it is still a project we shout about today with immense pride.

We’d love to know how any of these autonomous robotic vehicles have developed over the past 8 years!
