POV: I time-traveled to Wi******er… and nobody warned me what it would be like.

Welcome to Anglo-Saxon England, around 900 AD. Peak Viking Age energy. Timber houses, muddy streets, smoke drifting through the air — and absolutely none of the comforts we’re used to today.

Wi******er was one of the key cities of Wessex back then. No tourists, no reenactments, just real medieval life unfolding around you.

Standing here feels strange. The world is so quiet. No engines, no traffic, no background noise — just wind, animals, and people looking at you like you probably shouldn’t be here.

I tried to blend in.
