☀️ GEMS Festival IS GOING SOLAR! ☀️

We are SO excited to introduce as an official sponsor of the very first GEMS Festival 💛

And this is one we're particularly excited about because they're helping us power GEMS with the sun ☀️⚡

When you're creating a festival in the middle of a field, you need power and quite a lot of it as it turns out!
But we really didn't want that to automatically mean relying on traditional diesel generators all weekend.

That's where SolGen come in

Their clever hybrid solar generators combine solar power, battery storage and backup generation, providing reliable off-grid power while dramatically reducing generator run-time, fuel use, CO₂ emissions and noise 🌱

And they've very kindly stepped in to support our founding festival by providing solar power for GEMS 💛

It means that while we're dancing, talking, creating, relaxing, eating, drinking and generally filling a field with hundreds of women... the Hampshire sunshine will be helping to keep GEMS running ☀️

(And yes, we're absolutely ordering sunshine for the whole weekend 😂)

A new festival for women is coming to Hampshire, created by two Wi******er women 💛

There’s a new festival taking shape just outside Wi******er and it’s a little different from anything else on the festival calendar.

GEMS, Gather • Empower • Motivate • Support is the creation of two local Wi******er women who wanted to create somewhere women could come exactly as they are. No boxes to fit into, no expectations and no pressure to be a certain kind of woman

A place to find your people, discover your village and feel welcomed, supported and nurtured all whilst having an absolutely brilliant weekend along the way

Taking place on 10th & 11th July 2027 at Dummer Down Farm, GEMS brings together two festivals in one, a music festival and a wellness festival

Think live music, DJs, dancing and a proper festival atmosphere alongside wellness sessions, talks, workshops and wellbeing experiences.

There’s also the GEMS Village, bringing together independent businesses, makers, practitioners, food and drink, creatives and women-led brands creating a space to browse, discover, chat, connect and support local.

And while the festival is firmly about having fun, GEMS has a bigger purpose too.

At its heart is the belief that every woman deserves to feel that she belongs. Whatever her background, circumstances, age, interests or story, there is no mould to fit and no version of yourself you need to become before you arrive.

You can come with your friends or come alone. You can dance all weekend, take part in a workshop, sit and chat, discover something new or simply enjoy being somewhere you feel welcome.

Come as you are - Find your village - Welcome home.

GEMS is also about supporting women beyond the festival.

For its launch year, GEMS is proud to support Trinity Wi******er’s Women’s Services & Refuge, helping to raise awareness and funds for the vital work they do supporting women experiencing domestic abuse and difficult circumstances right here in our local community.

The festival is being built independently by two Wi******er women, with a real commitment to supporting local businesses, women entrepreneurs, creatives, performers and community organisations along the way.

What if you came to GEMS not knowing exactly what you needed?

Maybe you just know you need a weekend away from the usual routine.

A chance to laugh.

To listen to live music.

To try something you’ve never tried before.

To meet women you haven’t met yet.

Or perhaps simply to have a weekend where you don’t have to be Mum, partner, daughter, boss, carer or the person everyone relies on.

Just you.

That’s what we’re creating here.

And looking at this field while it’s still empty, it’s quite hard to imagine what it’s going to feel like when the village is here.

The music playing.

The tents going up.

Women arriving.

Conversations happening.

Laughter carrying across the field.

Memories being made.

That’s the bit we’re building towards. 💜

I’ve always been fascinated by people’s stories.

Not the ones we put on social media…

The real ones.

The chapters that made us who we are.
The moments that changed us.
The conversations we’ll never forget.

Working as a counsellor has taught me that every person you meet is carrying a story you know nothing about.

Maybe that’s one of the reasons GEMS feels so important to me.

Because behind every woman who walks through those doors will be a story.

A life that has brought her there.
Good chapters. Hard chapters. Chapters still being written.

And I hope GEMS can be a place where women can show up without having to pretend everything is perfect.

No masks.
No expectations.
No pretending.

Just women, sharing a little piece of their story, listening to someone else’s, laughing, connecting and reminding each other that none of us has to do life alone.

I think that’s where real connection begins. 🤍

🩵 One of the things we are incredibly proud of about GEMS is that our very first festival will be raising funds for Trinity Wi******er women's services

And there is a very important reason why we chose Trinity

Every day, they support women who are experiencing vulnerability and importantly, women who are experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse

They provide a safe, women-only space where women can access counselling, advice, support and programmes such as the Freedom Programme,helping women understand what has happened to them, rebuild their confidence and begin to move forward.l

But their work goes beyond support......

🏠 Trinity also provides emergency safe rooms and self-contained flats at undisclosed locations across Hampshire, offering women a safe place to stay during a crisis and a stepping stone towards a more settled future

For a woman experiencing domestic abuse, having somewhere safe to go can mean everything 🥰

Sometimes it's the difference between feeling completely trapped and knowing there is a door that can open

That's why we are so proud that the money raised through our first GEMS Festival will be helping Trinity continue this vital work supporting women
