🕙 Wednesdays at 10PM

WRFM – Radio for Oxfordshire & The Cotswolds

We’re celebrating one of the most iconic collaborations in modern music—Radiohead and the visionary artwork of Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke—with a very special Long Player series on WRFM.

🎶 Each week, we’ll play a full Radiohead album, from The Bends to A Moon Shaped Pool, plus solo work from Thom Yorke and The Smile—offering a deep, uninterrupted listen into the sonic and visual worlds they’ve created.

🎨 Why now? Because Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum is hosting "This Is What You Get", a major exhibition running 6 August 2025 to 11 January 2026, showcasing over 180 artworks that trace the 30-year creative partnership between Donwood and Yorke.

This Week - A Moon Shaped Pool.

Expect:
🖼 Stories behind the cover art
🎧 Insight into the music and visuals
🎙 Commentary on their evolving creative process

✨ This isn’t just a radio show. It’s an invitation to explore how sound and image intertwine.

📍 Where to Listen:
FM: 90.2 – 107.4 across Oxfordshire & The Cotswolds

🌿 Business Spotlight on Community Matters at 1025am, Saturday: Mr G interviews Sarah O’Neill — Founder of Cotswold Collective 🌿

We’re so excited to share our recent conversation with Sarah O’Neill, the visionary behind Cotswold Collective — a membership network built to champion local businesses, connect communities, and celebrate the best of what our region has to offer.

🗣️ How Cotswold Collective aims to brighten business for the region:

It strengthens the local economy: by encouraging residents and visitors to spend within the Cotswolds, it keeps money circulating in our communities

It builds networks & visibility: small and independent businesses gain more exposure, shared marketing, and a sense of belonging

It offers tangible value to members: for just £30/year, locals access perks, discounts, and exclusive invites across the region — making “shop local” feel rewarding

It fosters identity & pride: positioning the Cotswolds not just as a beautiful landscape, but as a living, interlinked ecosystem of creators, makers, shops & services

It’s scalable & sustainable: because it’s built on membership and partnerships rather than dependence on grants or external funding models

📌 In our interview, Sarah dives into how she turned a passion for community into a thriving membership model, the challenges of launching such a venture in a rural-leaning area, and her plans for growth ahead.

👉 If you care about keeping the Cotswolds vibrant, supporting local enterprise, or simply learning about entrepreneurial spirit in this region, this is well worth a listen.

Alan Rickman once said "and cancel Christmas" when he played the Sheriff of Nottingham. Thames Water are doing just that.

Road closures scheduled for essential water main replacement in the village of Christmas Common, Oxfordshire, are sparking fears they will "cancel Christmas" for local businesses, particularly a renowned Christmas tree farm.

Thames Water announced a 15-week period of rolling road closures through the village, near Watlington.

The timing has drawn sharp criticism from firms like The Tree Barn, famous for supplying Christmas trees to high-profile venues including Buckingham Palace and Downing Street. The farm warned that any road closure would coincide with its "very busiest" time of year for harvesting and sales.

Thames Water has apologized for the disruption, calling the replacement of 1.5 miles (2.3km) of clean water main an "essential upgrade."
