🏆 JAMIE WINS AT BURNHAM BEECHES! 🧡💚

A brilliant run from Jamie Ludlow this morning as he took the win at the Burnham Beeches Half Marathon! 👏

On a warm morning and over a notoriously lumpy course, Jamie dipped under 74 minutes, improving on his time from last year and coming home 1st overall. 🔥

Plenty of club vests on show today… but only one that mattered at the front.

🏆 One Title Retained. One Heartbreak. One Incredible Season. 🟠

The 2026 Surrey Road League has come to an end, and what a season it’s been for Woking AC!

Across eight races, from a fast and furious 3k to the half marathon, our athletes delivered week after week against the very best clubs in Surrey.

🥇 Our men’s team are Surrey Road League Champions once again, successfully defending the title with another outstanding season of consistent performances.

🥈 Our women’s team finished as Surrey Road League runners-up, coming heartbreakingly close to the title. It all came down to the final race, where they narrowly missed out after a season that deserved every bit of recognition. While the trophy just escaped them, they should be immensely proud of an incredible campaign.

🟠 Elmbridge 10k – Road League Finale

That’s a wrap on another fantastic Surrey Road League season!

We’ll be back soon with a separate post revealing the final team standings and celebrating our individual age category prize winners. But first, we wanted to celebrate a brilliant finale to this year’s campaign at the Elmbridge 10k.

An incredible 31 Woking AC runners proudly wore the orange vest, making us one of the biggest club turnouts on the day. Once again, the support, camaraderie and team spirit were on full display from first runner to last.

Burn-up for the ages at the Sunset Sprint 3K 🔥

What a brilliant evening of racing at the Sunset Sprint 3K – Race 7 of the Surrey Road League. Huge thanks to Ranelagh Harriers for putting on what has to be one of the most enjoyable Road League events we’ve ever competed in.

The eight-wave format was inspired. Rather than everyone disappearing into the distance, it meant athletes were constantly finishing, cheering on teammates and creating a fantastic atmosphere. Throw in a beautiful summer’s evening, music, food and hundreds of runners, and it felt more like a running festival than a road race.

Then came Race 8… and what a race it was.

Packed with some of the quickest endurance athletes in the club, it was a proper burn-up from the gun. As the race entered the final 400 metres, several Woking vests were right in the thick of an unforgettable sprint finish. Jack Dormer led the team home in a superb 8:55, followed by Thomas Skentos (8:58), Jacob Bowyer (8:59), John Hutchins (9:00) and Chris Dyson (9:04) in a breathtaking finish.

It was also fantastic to see several of our juniors stepping up to the Surrey Road League. Alongside Jack, George Cotton, Jacob Bowyer and Imogen Freeman all showed they have the quality to compete at senior level. The future is looking very bright for Woking AC.

👽 Our athletes invaded the Martian Race!

A great turnout from Woking AC at Sunday’s Martian Race, one of our favourite local trail events, with runners tackling everything from the Mini Martians through to the Half Marathon on the scenic trails of Horsell Common. Organised entirely by volunteers, the event is a brilliant fixture in the local running calendar and raises thousands of pounds each year for local charities. (martianrace.org⁠)

🇬🇧 Woking AC on the national stage.

Not every day you get to see a Woking AC vest on national television!

A big congratulations to Tyler Panton, who represented Woking AC in the 200m at this weekend’s UK Athletics Championships.

Tyler crossed the line in 21.60 against the very best sprinters in the country.

Running at the UK’s premier athletics event is an achievement that most athletes can only dream of. Everyone at Woking AC is immensely proud to see one of our own competing at that level and flying the flag for the club.

☀️ Hot racing, strong results… and it’s all to play for.

Race 6 of 8 in the Surrey Road League took us to the Ranelagh 10K, where temperatures were already nudging 24°C before the race even got underway.

Everyone knew what kind of day it was going to be. The temperature was already 24°C before the start, making this one of the toughest races of the Surrey Road League season.

The results reflected that, with another excellent team performance from Woking AC:

Next up is the Elmbridge 10K, before the season concludes with Ranelagh’s unique 3K burn-up, featuring eight waves of racing where every second could make the difference.
