𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘂𝗽.

This client worked in the mental health and wellbeing sector. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Yet beneath her achievements sat a constant 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁. She undercharged for her work, questioned her abilities, and often felt as though she had to prove her worth to herself and others.

𝗪𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. She had absorbed the idea that something was inherently wrong with her, that she was not good enough, and that her value depended on how much she could give. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

As the emotional charge attached to those ideas began to fade, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆. She priced her work according to its true value. She spoke with a calm assurance that came from within rather than from the need to convince anyone. 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚.
