The BCM team is proud to publish British Chess Magazine which is the world’s oldest chess journal, having been published continuously since 1881. British Chess Magazine has been part of Britain’s chess playing tradition for over 130 years, and we are privileged to have a distinguished editorial team and writers committed to those traditions and to today’s generations of chess players and enthusias

ts. The BCM appears every month, and each issue has in-depth and informative content about the chess world. We work hard to provide high quality games and analysis, reports on recent tournaments, articles and analysis about chess openings, interviews, independent book reviews, instructional articles and regular features on chess problems and endgame studies. Articles about famous players of today and from the past reveal the game’s greatest talents and rich history. The BCM has a unique focus on the British chess scene, and collaborates with the English Chess Federation, while also covering major chess news and events on the international scene. We make sure that the BCM caters for players of all ages and strengths, whether beginners or master players, and features both men’s and women’s chess. Our goal is to entertain, inform and help every reader improve their play and results. We do hope that you enjoy reading British Chess Magazine, whether in hard copy or in digital format on Kindle, iPad, iPhone (and any other platform!), and that you will join us. In 2015 we were judged to be the best magazine of 2015 by the Awards Committee of the English Chess Federation: a testament to the hard work and dedication of the BCM team.
