🌦️ WILL THE WEATHER WIN TODAY?

Just a few hours before Party in the Park begins in Elms Field, the rain has been coming down hard across Wokingham.
But if there's one thing we've learned about British summers, it's this: the weather can change in an instant.

From 3pm to 9pm today, thousands are expected to gather for Wokingham's biggest free outdoor music event of the year — Party in the Park — with live music, food, friends and a community atmosphere that only comes around once a year.

So here's hoping the clouds clear, the sun makes an appearance, and Elms Field fills with music instead of rain.
🤞 Fingers crossed, Wokingham.

Will you be heading down if the weather improves?
📸 Wokingham360 will be keeping an eye on the skies.

🍻 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗛𝗔𝗠?

Most people haven't visited all 9 pubs taking part in this year's Wokingham Ale Trail, organised by CAMRA South East Berkshire.

From historic coaching inns and community locals to hidden gems and award-winning pubs, each stop offers a different side of our town.

Starting on 7 June, you'll have the chance to explore them all, collect stamps along the way, and perhaps discover a new favourite.

This isn't just about beer. It's also a celebration of the pubs, people and community spaces that help make Wokingham what it is.

🗺️ 9 pubs. 1 trail.

📍 Can you collect them all?

Which of these pubs have you already visited, and which one is still on your list?

A big thank you to Berkshire South-East CAMRA and the participating pubs for bringing this trail together.

🍺 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗨𝗦𝗘

Nobody talks about the weather.
Nobody talks about the stage.
And after a while, nobody even talks about the beer.
What people remember are the conversations.

The familiar faces.
The feeling of belonging.
For one weekend each year, a field in Twyford becomes a meeting place for a community.
The beer is just the excuse.
The people are the reason.

📅 This year's Twyford Beer Festival runs from Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June at Stanlake Meadow, Twyford, bringing together live music, local food, real ales, craft beers and ciders — all while raising money for Orchid, the UK's leading male cancer charity.

🍻 Who would you share a pint with at Twyford Beer Festival?

🌅 LIFE RARELY REWARDS HESITATION.

Something a little personal today — not a Wokingham story, but one I’d still like to share.☺️

Sometimes we delay things for years.

Not because we don’t want them —
but because they feel difficult, inconvenient, or simply “for another day.”

And then a moment quietly reminds us:

Some of the best memories sit on the other side of effort.

Maybe that’s true for travel.
Maybe it’s true for life too.

🎸 A PUB THAT REFUSED TO GO QUIET

Tucked on the edge of town centre, The Victoria Arms has stood through changing faces, changing owners, and changing times.

Not the grandest pub in Wokingham. Not the busiest either.

But perhaps that’s part of its charm.

After closing for a period, this local pub found its feet again — and over the years, became known to many for its live music nights, familiar faces, and the kind of atmosphere that turns an ordinary evening into something memorable 🎶

Recently, another chapter quietly began under new hands.

Because pubs change. Landlords come and go.

But some things matter more.

The welcome. The music. The conversations over a pint. The feeling that, for a few hours, this little corner of town belongs to everyone.

Because some places should always have one more song.

Have you ever spent an evening here — or caught one of the live music nights?

Yes… I know I posted The Ship Inn yesterday 😆

But while going through the photos, I realised there were too many little details not to share.

The brickwork. The textures. The way the light catches the building. Different angles, same quiet charm. 🍃

Sometimes, familiar places deserve a second look.

🏛️🍻📍 WOKINGHAM’S FIRST HELLO?

Long before sat navs, supermarkets, or the rush of modern traffic… travellers arriving in Wokingham would likely have passed this very spot.

The Ship Inn isn’t just an old pub. It’s a Grade II listed former coaching inn, with parts of the building dating back hundreds of years — quietly standing at one of the main entrances to town.

Back then, coaching inns were where travellers rested, exchanged stories, ate, drank, and prepared for the next part of their journey.

In many ways, The Ship has been welcoming people to Wokingham long before any of us arrived.

Maybe that’s why, even today, it still feels a little like Wokingham’s unofficial greeter.

Have you ever been in? Or do you simply know it as the place that says: “You’re nearly in town.”

Most people won’t notice this.

But once you do, you might see Knead Neapolitan Pizza differently.

That REGA tin isn’t there by accident. It’s a quiet clue — a reminder that behind every good place are thoughtful choices most people never see.

Good ingredients. Quiet standards. Small details.

Sometimes, they tell the biggest story. 🇮🇹🍅

THE LIVE MUSIC? ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD
🎶
The Chilli Hop Cider Festival wrapped up yesterday — and judging by the comments, the feedback seems quite mixed 👀
For me?
The live bands and music were genuinely good 🎸🎤
They brought energy to the place and gave it a proper festival feel. Standing there under this dramatic sky, with music playing and people gathering — it actually felt pretty special.
Of course, I know many people were disappointed with the entry fee and felt it could have offered better value 💭
But putting that aside for a moment — I do think the music deserves some credit 👏
If you went, what was your honest verdict?
👍 Worth it
😐 Could be better
👎 Disappointed

Some people say I only share the good side of this town.

They’re not wrong. 🙂

It’s not that I don’t see the flaws. Every town has them.

I simply choose to focus on the good — the people, the small moments, the businesses trying their best, and the things worth cherishing ❤️

Just like photography, we choose how to frame what’s in front of us 📷

The same place can look completely different, depending on what we focus on.

Maybe I’m a dreamer ✨
But I’m probably not the only one.

If you’re someone who still believes there’s plenty of good worth noticing in this town, you’re in the right place.
