Here's the latest in WCR FM's "Celebrating Wolverhampton" series, reflecting the diversity of our city and our wider community.

Chris Allen and Gurpri Bains were joined on WCR FM by Martin Gomberg to talk about very sensitive issues relating to the October 7th attacks in 2023 and the reaction by the State of Israel.

Martin has a wealth of wisdom that has shaped religious education in Wolverhampton, and has the honour of leading the Kaddish prayer on Holocaust Memorial Day, remembering all acts of genocide.

This weeks Paws for Thought..

Meet Milo & Remi – A Bonded Pair Seeking a Loving New Chapter
🐾 Age: 7 years old | Neutered males | Indoor-only

With the support of Wolverhampton Cats Protection’s *Alternative Homing Scheme*, Milo and Remi are hoping to find a forever home where they can stay together, surrounded by love and gentle companionship. ❤️

These two charming boys are the best of friends playful, affectionate, and full of character. Milo is a cuddle enthusiast who adores lap time, fuss, and being picked up for a snuggle. Remi, while more reserved, enjoys gentle attention and values his quiet moments. Together, they strike a beautiful balance of affection and independence.

🎾 Their favourite pastimes include chasing laser dots, pouncing on string toys, and most of all, playing with you. They thrive on interaction and will happily join in any game that involves their human.

🏠 As indoor-only cats, they’re fully litter-trained and respectful of your space. At night, they prefer to snooze in their own cosy corners, away from the bedroom, and at mealtimes they enjoy a mix of wet and dry food (with treats, of course they’re not shy about that!).

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Milo and Remi have lived happily with adults and have previously been around children, though they prefer a calm environment and may retreat if things get too noisy. They haven’t lived with dogs, so their reaction to canine companions is unknown.

💔 Their current owner is heartbroken to part with them, but due to changes in the household, Milo and Remi are no longer receiving the attention they deserve. This decision comes from a place of deep love and hope that someone special will welcome them into a new home where they can continue to thrive—together.

If you feel your heart and home might be the right fit for these gentle souls, please reach out to Wolverhampton Cats Protection. Milo and Remi are waiting patiently for their next chapter to begin.

Coming up on today’s Women in the City:

In this week’s PAWS for Thought, we’re featuring two beautiful cats, Remi and Milo, who are hoping to find their forever home ideally together. They’re a bonded pair with bags of charm, and we’d love to see them rehomed with someone special.

As we marked World Su***de Prevention Day this week, I’ll be speaking with Kirsten Rose from The Sanctuary about the vital support their service offers to those in crisis. It’s a conversation full of hope and compassion.

In More Than Meets the Mind, Bethany Ashford joins us to explore the topic of medication and mental health what it means, how it helps, and the myths we need to bust.

Holistic wellbeing expert Dave Jones shares his insights on fear what it is, how it manifests, and how we can better understand it.

Child wellbeing advocate Chris Watkins talks about those tricky moods we sometimes wake up with, and how children can be supported through emotional ups and downs.

And we’ll hear from Chloe on Time to Rethink, discussing the powerful link between exercise and mental health and how movement can be medicine.

All this and more from 2pm today on WCRFM.
