📸 A major change is coming to MOT testing in 2026.

The DVSA has confirmed that mandatory vehicle photographs will become part of the MOT process from next year, as it continues its drive to eliminate fraudulent "ghost MOTs" and improve confidence in the testing scheme.

The new requirement will see MOT testers capture live images of vehicles during the inspection, providing additional evidence that the vehicle was physically present for its test.

The move follows successful trials and marks another significant step in the ongoing modernisation of the MOT system.
