Most of my friends and family have this idea that I seem to be on holiday all the time and I’m constantly being asked for recommendations on the places I visit. I find myself re-writing the same recommendations to friends and friends of friends over and over. This is when I decided to create something from my heart, by sharing my travelling experiences, concentrating mainly on reproducing, or even improving on, what my eyes see, through photos.

🌾✨ **Nostalgia in the Fields of Sugar Cane** ✨🌾

Growing up in Madeira, sugar cane fields were more than just crops; they were a playground, a refuge, and a treasure trove of memories. 🌱💚

The sugar cane industry has long been one of the most important pillars of our island’s economy. Yet, for us children, those towering canes were our ‘toys.’ We played hide and seek among them, laughing as we rescued our pets from their leafy hideouts. Each adventure was filled with the thrill of discovery and the sweetness of childhood joy! 🐾🌿

From a young age, we learned the art of peeling sugar cane despite the occasional cuts on our little hands. Those small scars were badges of honour, reminders of our playful spirit and resilience. 🍬✨

On hot summer days, the sugar cane fields provided the perfect shade, a remarkable escape where we would gather with friends, sharing stories and dreams under the rustling leaves. ☀️🌳

There are so many cherished memories tied to these vibrant fields. Here’s to the sugar cane that shaped our childhood and our island! ❤️✨

Dreaming of Fish Barbecue Bliss in Madeira!🔥🌊

Whenever I visit Madeira, one of my absolute must-dos is indulging in a fish barbecue! 🐟✨ The local markets and supermarkets are a treasure trove of fresh fish, and the variety is simply mind-blowing. I’m talking about delicious options like Espada (black scabbard fish), salmão (salmon), and branzino (European sea bass). And let’s not forget the meaty atum (tuna)—perfect for grilling!

And let’s not forget about the wine! 🍷 Sparkling Portuguese wine is delicious and incredibly affordable—it’s practically begging to be paired with those grilled delights.

If you’re lucky enough to rent a place with a BBQ, skip the usual meat feast and dive into something different. Trust me, a fish barbecue is a game changer. You’ll feel light and fresh, and your taste buds will thank you. 😋

Of course, I also adore a good meat barbecue, but sometimes you must embrace the ocean’s offerings! So grab those skewers, fire up the grill, and make some beautiful memories (and meals) under the Madeiran sun! ☀️🍽️

🌊✨ Counting down the days until I’m soaking up the sun in Funchal! Look at that view over the harbour – it’s practically calling my name! 😎🍹

I can already picture myself lounging in those chairs, plotting my next snack attack while watching the boats glide. Who knows, I might even get inspired to join the yacht club or stick to my trusty beach towel! 🤔⚓️
