The perfect start to Easter...
For the past few months I've had the honour of working on the marketing for Born for This – The Way of the Cross, a project involving 6 local secondary schools working with Jo Boyce of CJM Music to perform at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
It was my first time experiencing the performance, and from rehearsals through to the final show at Symphony Hall, I was completely blown away. It was a truly moving, uplifting, and emotional event for everyone involved.
One of the highlights was spending time with the students from all the participating schools while creating content. For many, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at such a prestigious, world-renowned venue — and they embraced it wholeheartedly. Their commitment was incredible, giving up holidays and weekends to rehearse, which speaks volumes about what being part of Born for This meant to them.
Seeing the pride and joy on their families’ faces during the performance was really special. They were, of course, supported every step of the way by dedicated school staff.
Born for This was written 30 years ago by Jo Boyce, who continues her inspiring work alongside the talented team at CJM MUSIC. Their passion, creativity, and dedication shine through every aspect of the production. It was amazing to witness such a gifted group of musicians, singers, and actors — some of whom have been part of this production for many years.
A huge thank you to Chris Martin, Headteacher at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, for trusting me to be part of this ambitious vision. As mentioned in the program it was a "leap of faith", but prayers were answered and it paid off in the most incredible way.
