Could someone help me go through this article? Because there's just some information not adding up, and I don't know if it's because it's AI written or what...am I missing something?
The tutor was contacting his sixth form college student on an 'adult' app which TRA will not disclose (hinting it's a dating app), but by her account and the account of the college, she was under the age of 18 (in the UK, the age consent is sixteen).
He admitted to fishing and contacting her after she left the college/finished the course, and started contacting her on Facebook, asking her if she was 18 yet. If she wasn't 18 already, how did she manage to get on the disclosed app to communicate with him in the first place? Because dating apps I believe now ask for ID to prove you're 18+, and now there are dating apps for under 18s now, why was she on an app for 'adults', when she could've been on the dating app for her age group?
I'm not questioning he was inappropriate, as the college had just changed the code of conduct last year, but the info isn't mathing in my end and I don't know why it isn't mathing.
Leaders 'shocked and saddened' but 'confident this was a one-off'
