Looking for something to watch tonight???

This one off 13-minute observational documentary will be exploring the culture of the British brass band. Audley Brass are preparing for their third contest of the year, coming off the back of a National Finals appearance and promotion into the First Section.

We follow their preparations up to their next performance where they battle it out to be the best band at ConsTest: on 12 April 2025 at The Birmingham Conservatoire.

Joining them in their band room with the MD, Tom Hancock putting the band through their paces to be able to show the adjudicators they are worthy of the top spot.

NXTOD presents a feature length recital documentary. Featuring Lewis Barton, principal cornet of the Leyland Band. Including works for Cornet, Trumpet & Flugelhorn. Featuring the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto & Northern Lights by Bertrand Moren, along with an exclusive interview with Lewis Barton.

NXTOD Sessions is a modern take on the classic recital. Combining high quality visuals, documentary style interviews and a modern ‘studio session’ setting, the series showcases talented musicians and the stories that make them.

Lewis Barton is currently principal cornet of the Leyland Band. Growing up in a musical family, Lewis attended his dad’s brass band concerts and had a love of film music, particularly the big brass fanfares from films like Star Wars and Superman. His passion for music saw him take up an instrument so that he too could pass on the enjoyment of listening to music to others. Now studying at the RNCM, Lewis’ musical journey has taken him far and wide! Join Lewis in this first episode of NXTOD Sessions where he’s hand selected music that expresses his musical journey so far!
