NXTOD presents a feature length recital documentary. Featuring Lewis Barton, principal cornet of the Leyland Band. Including works for Cornet, Trumpet & Flugelhorn. Featuring the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto & Northern Lights by Bertrand Moren, along with an exclusive interview with Lewis Barton.

NXTOD Sessions is a modern take on the classic recital. Combining high quality visuals, documentary style interviews and a modern ‘studio session’ setting, the series showcases talented musicians and the stories that make them.

Lewis Barton is currently principal cornet of the Leyland Band. Growing up in a musical family, Lewis attended his dad’s brass band concerts and had a love of film music, particularly the big brass fanfares from films like Star Wars and Superman. His passion for music saw him take up an instrument so that he too could pass on the enjoyment of listening to music to others. Now studying at the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music, Lewis’ musical journey has taken him far and wide! Join Lewis in this first episode of NXTOD Sessions where he’s hand selected music that expresses his musical journey so far!

Available to watch in UHD on NXTOD, this feature length documentary is also released as an album too.

In the 4th Section / Unregistered contest we are looking forward to performances from St John's Band - Mossley, Friezland Brass Band, Driffield Silver Band & Mereside Brass!
