The Fifth Divide is the first release in an ongoing modular series.

Built entirely from a single live improvised performance, nothing was edited after the fact. The patch was allowed to evolve naturally, capturing every subtle shift, happy accident and moment of tension as it happened.

The piece follows an imagined journey through a dark, dystopian forest where forgotten machines lie hidden beneath the trees. Rain falls constantly, distant thunder rolls overhead, and fragments of light briefly break through before disappearing back into the darkness. It isn’t intended to tell a story as such, but to create a place that the listener can step into and experience in their own way.

Long-form music isn’t about instant gratification. It’s about allowing time for textures to unfold, for repetition to become movement, and for small changes to gradually reshape the landscape. The Fifth Divide rewards patience, revealing details that only emerge through deep listening.

This is the first chapter.
More journeys are still to come.
